Hyperion

Name- Kieran Ryer

Nick Name/Alias- None

=Appearance=

Height- 5'9"

Weight- 153 lbs

Gender- Male

Chronological Age- 20

Biological Age- 20

Skin Color- White

Eye Color- Black

Hair Color- Very Light Red

Species- Half-Demon

Other- Scars running down the sides of his neck to his shoulders; tattoo of a raven in flight on the palm of his left hand, the back of his neck, his right ankle, and between his shoulder blades; claw-like fingernails

=Psychology=

Likes- Being alone, pain

Dislikes- Being isolated

Phobias- None

Personality- Kieran often comes across as being apathetic about almost everything. His problem, however, is not that he doesn't care about anything but rather that he has difficulty empathizing with the needs or desires of others. This handicap makes him prone to completely overlooking people's problems, making people believe that he's simply ignoring them. Kieran hates having nobody around, but when with a group he remains voluntarily on the edge, by himself. In other words, he loves physical loneliness but not mental or emotional. He is also a mild masochist and while he will not actively seek pain, he enjoys it whenever he finds it.

=Skills=

Knowledge- Adept knowledge of human anatomy, wilderness survival skills

Skills- Acute sense of direction; ability to manipulate the body, ranging from pressure points to using the feet as "the keyboard of the body",

Nonskills- Caring, hiding his emotions (or lack thereof), planning ahead, using sound strategy

=Superpowers!=

Lifeforce Drain - Absorbs the vitality of a person just by touching them. This prolongs their lifespan, but kills the person. They also absorb the person's special ability

    Power Scale- 6 (Requires several seconds of contact, increases life span by 1/100 of what the victim would have naturally lived, superpower drained goes down by four on power scale)

    Control Scale- 7 (Usually perfect control, but when deeply upset can occur accidentally or kill when only a slight drain was attempted)

Dark Wing - Four black feathered wings grow from his back

    Sub-powers- Can use the wings to fly

    Sub-powers- Blood from the wings burns anything it touches

    Power Scale- 8 (Can fly at about 80 mph, ceiling is wherever the air becomes so thin that it's impossible to breathe)

    Control Scale- 10 (Can emerge or retract instantly at will)
All hail the king of dunces! You best hold on, I'm opening up my mouth.

Hmm.... Not technically. Other than the absorbing skill thing.

Fallen Angel Hybrids might not fit into the story.

“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Re: Characters

Well, we do have Jack, who is some kinda half-demon.

I dunno how the fallen angel would fit in with the scheme of things, but I definitely want him to have a cameo and a conversation with Jack on the nature of religion and the state of the world. I think Jack'd even take the positive side of things, ironically enough.

Personally, I don't think this one should feature facets of religion, even through the mention of such via angels and demons.

@Richard!: PS: two questions/observations.

1) Fallen angels are demons. Don't know if you're going by the Bible, but if so, the offspring of a human/demon (or fallen angel, whatever) is a giant.

2) would your character happen to the one featured in your avatar?

Is that where he got the character idea from, too? If so, BAN...

Re: Characters

Hyperion
Yes, that's where my avatar comes from, but the character is my own creation. As for it being a Gary Lou, I've never really understood what that term means. And if the fallen angel thing doesn't work then whatever, it isn't necessary.

@WHD: to answer your first question, sadly no. Unlike her ward, Vicious, her psyche is not animal in nature. It's her mind amplifying her stats based on her anger/fear, not the release of an inner feral nature (despite the fact that she can roar); only perhaps Mental Possession, Psychic Persuasion or something of that particularly powerful nature could calm her down...

However, to answer your second question, yeah, I DID notice the similarities between she and Shalimar Fox, however that was not my plan when I designed her (even though I REALLY liked that series)

Re: Characters

Vespert

===Character===

Name-- Brad Fisher

Nick Name/Alias-- The Humming Man (The Hummingman)

=Appearance=

Height-- 5'11

Weight-- 180 lbs.

Gender-- Male

Chronological Age-- 42

Biological Age-- 50

Skin Color-- White

Eye Color-- Dark Brown

Hair Color-- Black

Species--Superhuman

Other-- Currently restrained in a straitjacket and detained in an asylum.

=Psychology=

Likes-- The iron scent of blood, the stickiness of his bloodstained fingers, the dying scream of his victims after having their throat slit, the smoothness of their guts, the swinging motion of lifeless limbs and bodies, making cuts and stabs in sync with Pachelbel's Canon in D.

Dislikes-- Being interrupted while he enjoys breaking his "toys", using guns and other long-range weapons as he prefers to directly feel someone's life running out.

Phobias-- Women.

Personality-- Violent, insane and misogynic. Not much is known about his childhood, except the fact that he was frequently admitted to hospital for head injuries, supposedly caused by school bullies. Those injuries greatly impeded his mental growth. He has difficulty to read, usually spoke in a childish manner and had a deep hatred and fear for women. At 19, he started doing casual jobs, which allowed him to find lonely women to kill. It was his habit of humming Pachelbel's Canon in D which earned him the nickname "the Hummingman" and which betrayed him to the authorities. Declared insane, he ended up in a straitjacket to contain his violent nature. This proved to be useless as his contained rage triggered the development of his power.

=Skills=

Knowledge-- His experiments on his victims, nearly always women, gave him knowledge about woman biology.

Skills-- Very proficient with knives, scissors and other sharp objects.

Nonskills-- Reading, understanding elaborate speeches.

=Superpowers!=

Power-- Psychic Link, the ability to establish a telepathic, empathic and sensory connection with someone. Brad could create a psychic link with anyone he's met and remembers, including those he met through the person he created a connection with. That link works both ways and allows both participants to know what the other is thinking, feeling and perceiving. In that case, Brad's insane and violent mind nearly always dominates the other's mind, so much that he can force the other to kill women while humming Pachelbel's Canon. The experience always left the other person emotionally scarred and most of them have been arrested and tried. The downside is the other person's sanity, guilt, fear and disgust tend to pollute Brad's personality.

    Sub-powers-  Persuasion, Mind Control, Possession.

    Power Scale-- 7/10. The participants can't share each other's memories and knowledge yet, except through thoughts, but Brad doesn't care about the other person so it's unlikely that he will get that powerful.

    Control Scale-- 4/10. If his mind wasn't so blurry, he could easily establish a link whenever he wants and with anyone he wants.

===Character===

Name-- Johnny Long

Nick Name/Alias-- tells the ladies to call him Romeo, or Sexy (but no one does), Long, Mark Chan (or Mark Chang), Tom Lee, Bobby Namoto, Iziaku ("Izzy") Nakamura, Michio Urusue

=Appearance=

Height-- 6'0

Weight-- 162 lbs.

Gender-- Male

Chronological Age-- 23

Biological Age-- 20

Skin Color-- Tan

Eye Color-- Brown

Hair Color-- Black

Species--Superhuman (Human Mutant)

Other-- Asian; his mother is Japanese, his father is Chinese, but he has no accent at all...

=Psychology=

Likes-- Chinese food, sushi, spicy food, upbeat music (rap, hip-hop, rock...depends on who he's around), sex, girls (especially those who think Asian guys are sexy), dancing, movies, hanging with "cool" people, anime and manga (on his downtime)

Dislikes-- Asian jokes, Asian stereotypes (he prides himself on the fact that he doesn't fit the stereotypes at all...), People who can speak more than one language but prefer to NOT speak in English, people who say "dude" alot, high-fiving

Phobias-- None

Personality-- A fun-loving guy, whose cockiness, recklessness and loudmouth attitude is only matched by his flirtiness; he is often found ogling pretty girls, and is known by friends and family members for striking out with girls on a regular basis (possibly due to his kinda-corny pick-up lines and borderline inappropriate dialogue); despite the love he has for his family, he is proud of the fact that he is not the typical stereotypical Asian (his eyes aren't all that slanted; his body is kinda built, not lean; he never learned martial arts as a kid; his grades in school were only average; and his 'endowments' defy what girls would think Asian guys are usually workin' with...)

=Skills=

Knowledge-- Knowledge of various superhumans, superhuman factions and gangs, knowledge of the rules and regulations of various overlords and overladies

Skills-- Athletic (running, jumping, climbing, parkour, gymnastics), fighting (street fighting, a little boxing and kickboxing), lulling people into a false sense of security with his attitude (nearly none of his combatants see him as a threat until they see him fight), pretty good actor, speaks fluent Japanese and numerous Chinese dialects semi-fluently (occasionally messes up on his Chinese), pretty good speller, sarcasm, social pursuits

Nonskills-- Math and science, being patient, being humble, staying quiet for long (unless he knows the situation is serious), respecting authority figures (loves to crack on people)

=Superpowers!=

Power-- Intangibility (Phasing; can psychically render oneself elusive to the sense of touch, and pass through physical matter, at will)

    Sub-powers- Disruptive Intangibility (Disruptive Phasing- by agitating his molecules while intangible, he can screw up electronics by walking through them)

    Sub-powers-  Phase Teleportation (can phase through any surface, such as a wall or the ground, and seconds later, relocate himself in any location connected to that surface; for example, if he phases into a wall, he can reappear from the roof, any of the connecting walls, or the door)

    Sub-powers-  Intangible Contact (Phase Contact- can make physical contact with other intangible beings, whether he is intangible or not)

    Sub-powers-  Superhuman Agility (can jump farther, dodge better and move more fluidly than the average human)

    Sub-powers-  Superhuman Reflexes (can react faster than the average human)

    Sub-powers-  Flexibility (can move joints with greater limberness and pliability than the average human)

    Sub-powers- can breathe while phased (normally intangibility renders one out of phase, and thus incapable of breathing; HOWEVER, HIS phased respiratory system matches inhaled air to his phase, so he can stay intangible for as long as he likes, and has no difficulty returning to tangibility)

Power Scale-- 8 (can easily avoid most forms of harm, save starvation, suffocation and the like)
Control Scale-- 8 (very in control of his molecules; his molecules are very lax, and he has little need to concentrate, even while intangible)

Johnny Long

Celebrity Claim: a model that calls himself "G Twenty"...
