It's just that that sort of inquiry seems pretty Jester-like. "I wanna choose a (insert viable, cool idea here) character!"  "What can he do?"  "(Insert random, unrelated, and very powerful capability here, to totally ruin the idea of the otherwise acceptable character)"  "Oh, Jester..."

Yeah, right.
