Re: yet another Rp.

jester_of_god
originally it started out as a bodiless head that floated on top of the water. Luring fishermen.

Then due to a work of fiction in which it was written of. It became a little man, who would go into your house uninvited, and was incrediblly hard to get rid of. And almost on a whim it would seem, it became the leader of the one hundred demons march.

Currently it has been featured in a manga, known as Nurarihyon no mago. Where they are depictured as humanoid creatures with oblong heads covered in hair, making them look almost entirely human. In addition to having vast fighting skills, they can also move about undetected, and generate illusions.

When you are selecting the correct version of a mythos to use in a story, you have to be adamant in its aspects. depending on whether or not your using the current or the original versions changes the storyline. Over time the nature of the beasts change, and we need to decide whether to use the original or the current descriptions.

If you wish, for the sake of the Rp we can use the current depictions of all creatures, whether they match up with the original myth or not.

Re: yet another Rp.

very well. now to wait forth the other's, I shall submit mine accordingly. In the meantime perhaps we can draw up a few NPCs. from this argument, Ive started to form the idea of one who can teach magical immunity/dampening. A sort of wandering monk spirit if you will derived from either the Dullahan, or one of Japans wandering monk spirits, unfortunately I'm not as familierized with native american mythology so I may need some help in that sector.

For the sake of keeping it diverce, I think that one of the NPCs shall be a thunderbird, which could be able to teach flight, and arial combat.

I'm considering something.. Japanese.

They have interesting beings in their mythology.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

yes, the japanese are always a wellspring f ideas when it comes to mythology. One of the hunter NPCs  was planning on making is a mix of yuki onna and kitsune, with the kitsune being the domninant. I'm consindering a later part in the story to use a ahuitzhotl, if I'm spelling that correctly. For a hunting quest. I hope it wont be to complex but I'm actuay planning for a money/bartering system throughout the game.

Nothing...it's just...interesting.

It...actually seems like a coherent thought.

Shadowulf!

Good to see you again.

Now..

What do you know about Sphinxes?

Thank you Zale.

And I know that Sphinxes are very intelligent, combining the wisdom/intellect of the smartest people with the ferocity of the meanest lions.

The Sphinx was the original Riddler.

And they come in numerous varieties.

Androsphinx (man-headed)
Gynosphinx (woman-headed; may or may not be winged)
Kriosphinx (ram-headed)
Hieracosphinx (falcon-headed)

I shall.

Marv wanted a sphinx descended character with magic dampening/absorbing abilities.

Jester wanted him to find something in myths that corresponds with that.
