The Mover is a telekinetic but he's mostly a blowhard, and Caleb Trelaine has no powers but he's cruel and cunning. Only the supers don't know that. They think The Mover is worse.

Oh yeah, he was the guy who wanted Vegas and the Hoover Dam. I was going to have Alton make a speech about how much of a child that guy was. Of course, he obviously has some skill or else he couldn't control the largest area of land in the country.

Now, big question: If this Trelaine guy doesn't have powers, how did he carve out a territory without a bigwig kicking in the door and taking it for themselves?

Yeah, the Mover wanted power, but now that he has it, he's sitting pretty comfy.

As for Trelaine? He's clever, like I said, and sneaky. He trains in combat, keeps himself in great shape, studies up, and is constantly surrounded by loyal friends, many of whom are supers.

Oh, so he's charismatic. Or he has an ideal that they all share and want to make true.

It's difficult, naturally. Taking Caleb Trelaine and his step-brother Dane out will be no easy feat. If you read the original, Caleb is willing to do nearly anything necessary to hold onto the power that his family fought to gain.

Just, I'm not sure how much of the original I want to incorporate, and how much of it I want to change.

I don't want to tell the exact same story, but also, some of those characters go on to be important later.

You know those two much better than I do.

 They will. That much is sure. Even if they become relevant in a different way.

Deaths and defeats may change around, be added, or removed, pending the group decision that said changes are for the best. Also, I imagine some characters may be added or deleted.

 Silence! Jack isn't going anywhere!

I'm talking about some minor characters, and some who were intended to be important, but never got to be used, and other stuff like that.

Within his family structure he has to have some heavy hitters under his command to act as a deterrent against other overlords. There are two surefire ways to command those under you. If they have less power, then you can rule with fear.

This is not happening, as these deterrents aren't just going to let themselves be ruled by a non-powered mook. They're going to start throwing their weight around whenever they disagree with him, he wouldn't be able to intimidate them. The only way he could hold his lieutenants together was true loyalty.

Caleb Trelaine must, by necessity, rule by love. That doesn't mean the people have to love him. But his organization? His inner circle? They follow out of respect, either of the man or his ideals. They believe in him.

*Edit: Jesus Christ, ruler of a city? Peak human potential? At twenty five? This is the scariest man alive. The amount of personal drive he has to posses....

 What else would he rule with? His nonexistent superpowers?

No, no, his henchmen are his friends since youth. Phil (Telekinesis), Willis (Size Shifting), and twins Bruce (Inanimate Object Possession) and Bruno (Bodily Possession). And when he came into power, he promised them a share of whatever they wanted. They could have and do whatever they want, within his domain, and get basically a free pass. And they only have to pledge their undying loyalty to fight for him whenever he calls.

And then, of course, behind each one's back, Caleb promised the other that if they turn on him, and they jumped in to help take the traitor down, they would get the traitor's cut.

Like I said. Wily.

Granted, his mother has gone off to Australia to establish a nice little place of her own, and his half-brother Dane (Catharsis) is an utterly useless junky with an unhealthy addiction to setting things aflame, but...meh, whaddya gonna do?

So whats up with the Omnichat thing? Is it just meant to represent a chat thing that any of our characters can connect to outside of their cannon in the Rps or did I miss something?

 Speaking of ultra light, I'm still feeling sort of ultra light on ideas for ESRP. Which is not good if I intend to get it back up and going while the getting is good.

I wonder if I'll be up to the task of narrating...

I may need some help weeding out Overlords and various other assorted characters that won't make the cut for this RP. Maybe they belong in some other RP, maybe in a novel, maybe in a trash heap.

Could you guys help me go through and get rid of some of the characters?
