I'm sorta tired after the whole mess with seeing Man of Steel today.

Nothing serious, but still.

Combined with the headache from watching a movie in utter darkness, I'll try to be ready by tomorrow to discuss anything that needs doing here. Sorry, folks, to any and all inconvenienced.

Okay, so I'm ready to get back on planning for Evolutionist's Stone.

And, of course, the first issue is to set up how we go about life after the Australis Event.

Anybody have any suggestions?

GV, maybe? I know you offered some input before, but I forgot what you said before. Mind giving me a refresher?

If you want to set up fifes like before, ruled by superpowered warlords, that means a complete breakdown of society as we know it. That means civil war, a long, protracted civil war, as the new borders are being decided. War, in turn, means the destruction of civil infrastructure: water, power, roads, farms, factorys, anything that could allow your enemy to keep fighting is always the first thing you want to wipe out. There would also be a huge loss of life, not only by soldiers in the fighting but also civilians dying of hunger, disease, or as collateral damage. Then you have the problum where you've basically wiped out an entire generation with the fighting. Read a description of Germany or France right after world war two for the sort of desolation I'm talking about: nothing to eat, economy in shambles, and empty of young men.

So, all that, I can do.

Only problem is, I need to know how long after that societal breakdown would be feasible for some people to raise up and get onto the problem of the Overlords. I want the setting to be dystopian, and true enough borderline-GRIMMDARK in some places, but for the most part, struggling but improving.

That really depends. How stable do you want the world to be?

It should be stable enough that some government can run, but that corruption and criminality are still quite apparent.

Electricity is getting back up and running, but it's still spotty. Most kids have had access to electricity and technology maybe about five years. First things to come back up are radios and phones. Computers back up way later.

Government and politics is only mentioned in the background. If we can help it, as little mention of that as possible. Mainly, it's for setting.
