I'm in the process of joining the Hero Campaign of one of my friends. Does anyone know how to work the Heroes System? I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to create my character correctly.

I'm going with my Theme by creating a Theme Caster within the system

Some more information: For this campaign, my character starts off with 200 points with which to buy things from the Hero System. I am also required to take 50 points of disadvantages which adds to my spending points, giving me 250 points as a baseline to spend. I can take up to 100 points of disadvantages if I want (I'm currently taking 60) giving me a max amount of starting points to spend at 300 (I'm only using 260 points of this because of the disadvantages that I chose).

I want to create two main powers for my character using these points (Besides whatever skills or stats I give him). The first is his main power, Aid, which can select and buff any stat of any character but it only has two charges at a time. The other is a Buff power which is made from a Variable Power Pool that gives me one charge to buff another character with a temporary power.

I keep hearing mentions of this system across the web, but never any in relation to what it is generally for.

Its like D&D but with Superheroes and its own system for character creation.

Check out the PDF and see what kind of character you would make. The rules for the campaign I'm joining are: Start with 200 character points, required to take 50 disadvantage points, allowed to take an additional 50 disadvantage points if you want extra points.

Did you check out the system by any chance?

It seems like you can create some pretty overpowered characters if you tried, though they would have some terrible disadvantages as well.

Multiform in particular seems very unbalanced. For every 1 point you spend, you get 5 points (Or more if you alter the cost with limitations) to spend on the second form.

I created a character that spent most of his points on Multiform who had this Shazam style form he could shift into that was created on 10 times the amount of character points (Thus 10x the power) of standard characters.

Indeed, a collection of cases, sightings and happenings of the unexplained and odd. I've been watching a lot of Fringe, Eureka, and Warehouse 13 lately and needed an outlet for my thoughts. Anyone is welcome to contribute as long as it's "in character" so to speak.

You can make them significant if you wish. Personally I hid a number of little details that were otherwise significant in mine.
