I've been reading a few of those polls.

I have found that Shapeshifting, Telepathy, Invisibility, Flight and Immortality (in some form) are the most common so far, closely followed by Time Control and Teleportation.
Bow before your unimaginably powerful overlord!

Wait a minute, I'm currently too busy holding a cork in mid air for petty groveling.

Yes, but not everyone picks the powers that come to mind first.

What about the people choosing Unlimited Wishes?

The powers that are most common, or that I was right?

So...I was thinking, Ves, are you still considering this?

If you need some comic insight to match up the Listers in a cool, comprehensive quiz, I think we all can pitch in.

Well, I'm certainly taking my time with it... I'm having trouble matching some powers with a type of personality (I'll probably just ditch them) and it takes a while to write short but accurate descriptions for every result...

Hm...true.

Take your time, no rush; I just wanted to see if you still planned on doing it. I think it's a good idea.

The Old Earth (An idea in progress)

In reply to this post by Vespert
Hey guys, I've been attempting to write my own story lately, but need some help with character creation for it. I figured why not ask y'all to help out. So far the story lays out pretty much like this.

In the distant future humans have advanced to a point where they have colonized other planets. On one such planet the humans have created a veritable utopia. However, there is a darker side to this grand planet. Anyone who is seen as a blemish of society is forced to leave. Prisoners, genetic outcasts and the impoverished are sent to live on the original Earth, which now acts like a planet sized prison. Among the people ejected from the New Earth are mutants who have developed superpowers (a side effect after years of tampering with the human genome). The main character is just such a mutant.

Once on the prison planet he discovers a sort of hierarchy has taken hold. A man named Gabriel has rallied together all the mutants and violent humans to form an oppressive empire. Gabriel's 7 main henchmen control different portions of the world and terrorize the other humans and resistant mutants. But there is hope, 5 legends fight to oppose Gabriel and the main character soon joins them.

What I need from you guys is to help me define some of the Main characters and to create a few minor characters from scratch. Here is what I already have for the main characters.

Amos –Main Character – Conduit

The Bad Guys
        Gabriel – Leader – Technopathy
Gabriel is the diabolical, mischievous, conniving, manipulative, cunning and dastardly villain of the entire prison planet. He leads an army of miscreants, ruffians and evil mutants that love to use their powers to instill fear. To help his control his army, Gabriel employs the help of his seven generals, who are also

        Marshal – Teleportation
This character is Gabriel’s right hand man. He always wears a simple black mask, which he will never remove. He would rather die than reveal his true face to anyone. He also wears loose fitting black clothes that cover his entire body, including a skin tight hood that covers his head, much like a ninja. In addition to possessing the ability of teleportation Marshal is also an adept martial artist and hand to hand combat expert. He has several daggers and knives strapped to his person which he uses frequently in combat. He also possesses two katana which he wears on his back. When Marshal speaks he tends to rhyme or use words beginning with the same letter. However his strange speaking patterns are not prominent and are in fact very subtle.

Miroslav (Arson) – Energy Blasts or Energy Fist
Miroslav is a Russian accented ball of hatred. He is almost always angry and his anger lends strength to his ability making Miroslav’s anger and deadly weapon. Miroslav dresses in an old military uniform that is torn in several places. When severely angered, Miroslav’s speech is nearly incomprehensible through his accent.

        Famine – Consume Anything

        Dante – Ludicrous Regeneration

        Talon –

Scarlet – Shape shifting/minor ability mimic
Scarlet is Dante’s partner in crime. They are constantly together. Scarlet is the craftier of the two and is usually the one who makes the plan. Scarlet carries no weapons as she likes to use others weaknesses to her benefit. Scarlet rarely sinks to actual physical fighting, opting rather to infiltrate and deceive. Scarlet wears a female leather biker’s jacket and jeans. Her hair, eye and nail colors change constantly as her mood does.

Seth – Drain energy and cause fatigue.
Seth is the lowliest of Gabriel’s 7. He runs the mining operations on the prison planet, but since Gabriel’s machines do most of the work. Seth has become lazy. He lounges around and has others do any work for him. Seth wears worn out cloths and armor made from pieces of mining equipment. His favorite weapon is a spiked crowbar, which he carries on a strap attached to his hip. Seth’s main tool for dispatching potential threats is his 3 lieutenants who have been outfitted with modified mining equipment. The equipment has melded with their bodies making them the equivalent of cyborgs.

The Five Legends
Mira – Healing

Dakota – Magnetism control

Mech – Complete mechanical and technological knowledge

Inanimate Reincarnation: Able to recreate any nonliving object that has been destroyed, doesn't repair old object but creates something new. Has different mutant put his mind into a statue or something so that he can reincarnate himself.

Sky toucher: Able to interact with sky as if it was physical object. Can pull off pieces to use as swords or platforms. Can gain bonuses from weather. Strongest would be something like making a hole in the sky and focusing space radiation through it for an orbital laser type attack.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

What I'm really looking for is characters with average abilities and unique personalities. Nothing too complicated with powers.

Maybe something like Gambit, but instead of causing things to explode, makes things charged with poison for a certain amount of time, contact poison.

So, you're looking for Talon's abilities, and two more legends?

Sounds simple enough.

Talon could have Natural Weapons (Fangs, Claws on hands and feet)

And your last two legends could be twins. Maybe with duel powers. (Light and Darkness, Water and Fire, etc.)
