Rotations have never worked well in the past.

A completely separate and unrelated situation. Rotations don't work on a forum, they kill RPs by preventing those who want to post from posting until someone (who is usually offline a lot) posts.

Your proposed rule set won't be very effective, based on previous knowledge.

Quick question, What is the RP Queue?

A Queue for RPs... exactly what it says. Designed to prevent a flood of RPs so that attention can be focused on each in turn, This keeps RPs from fading into obscurity soon after starting due to lack of attention caused by the influx of other RPs.

Also, a completely separate situation and irrelevant to this conversation.

Actually they're quite related.

And as for you're original problem concerning why rotations don't work, that's why I put in a time limit of four hours, and considering that there are only  nine people participating in the entire Forum at this point, there's no reason for a rotation not to work.

We need a system that can work autonomously. If we have to wait for a council and suspend all other actions whenever a fight starts the RP will get no where.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

that's next to impossible in an rp full of free actions and attacks, I suppose I can create a point system based off of power of action, and the area that the action affects in order to create a model of point usage, but it would have to be okayed by Zalermancer

Time limits are also a terrible idea in the forums. Not everyone can be on when they're needed. Combining them with Rotations (which we've tried before) is not a great idea. I'm certain it won't work the way you think it will or at all for that matter.

Look, I'm just trying to help. You don't have to get so defensive. You have to realize that restricting when people can post is disruptive to the RP structure. Especially with people from different time zones and schedules.

Let's see.

mote usage.

Add the two level's it falls under together.

area of affect

within eyesight of a normal human: 2 motes.

within several miles: 4 motes

within the range of a state: 8 motes.

within the range of a continet: 16 motes

within the range of a hemisphere: 32 motes.

anything extra shouldn't be allowed.

Power of affect:

Minor blessing/curse: 2 motes.

resurrection, altering the weather, major blessing, major curse: 4 motes.

something that breaks the laws of physics: 8 motes.

Something along the line of what could be caused via Nuke: 16 motes.

Major world disaster akin to meteor strike or death star level destruction.: 32 motes.

If the action is within a domain of one of you're gods. half the point amount. Then divide the point amount by you're potency level, if it's not divisible, round up.

given that the number of people multiplied by the number of hours does not fall under a twenty four hour time period no one has any excuse to not be on at least once or twice a week during their time schedule, also given the frequency of posts in this RP it shouldn't be a problem to begin with.

You keep trying to apply logic to a situation that is illogical by nature. You can;t predict when people will be active so trying to restrict them based on speculation is kinda silly. You yourself are fair proof of that, disappearing for weeks on end.

Again, I'm only trying to help. We've tried restricting posts before and it did not work.

Under that system I could do a Major world disaster over half the world for 8 motes

Yeah, that's probably not a good rule set to allow for that.

Especially considering I have 50ish motes until we get around to reworking that.

You're a god of pure power, which is pretty fair, in addition to that with the other rule based on motes I doubt you would have more than 16 at this point. And given that you'd be powerless until the end of the week.

Fair enough, in which case you're perception controls how large of an area you can do these in, and your potency controls what level of effect you can do these in and the point deduction from potency is eradicated.

which means instead of eight points it would be around thirty two, just to make it more impossible let's get rid of the bonus from it being part of you're domain entirely and make it so that if it is not part of you're domain the point usage is doubled. Raising it to sixty four instead.

Nothing is without logic, and people can adapt if they need to, the schedule can be changed weekly so that people can predict when they may be on themselves and adjust accordingly.
