I forgot to mention to ignore the weapons....they were just for fun to draw.
As for the oversized coat issue, its rather difficult to make the coat appear large without dwarfing out the character. But I'll try again.

I think it could work if the sleeves around the wrists where all poofed out, as she had to roll them up a whole lot. Extend the tail and the collar, and have at least the top two buttons buttoned in order to keep it on.

Thats basically what I'm attempting as we speak.
Any other insights on character design, even for the undrawn ones?

I think those five make for a well rounded team, and you seem to be doing well with the character drawings so I don't have any input on that.
I think we need to work on their power specifics so we know where each is starting at.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

I like the stitches on her head. Though she does look a bit surprised.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

1. I'm seeing the young girl's prime weapon being a bow made from this power during her younger years. Perhaps she has a high level of power but can not call on it safely. 2. Seems like the kind of person who would jump between experiments, during each mission she pulls out something new and untested but would not bring with her many of her old experiments till she had a new design to try on them. Would need some base piece of tech that was always with her to help her perform experiments though. 3. In order for readers to keep up with things, I feel that he should have specific shape shift forms that he develops over time. 4. Couple of different directions we could go: Collector, Summoner, Crafter, or even him never changing from his first gun and just showing off new skills with gun. 5. I think we should start her off with a very general type of energy projection such as kinetic and let her experiment with more unconventional energies over time.

I agree with most of that. For the shape shifter I was thinking something less in the deception area and more in the practical area. Such as claws for fighting and boosting normal human parameters.

If it's okay with you, the field of science/engineering she uses would mostly be clockwork automatons and basic gadgetry.
Wee robot bugs. That explode. And such. Rather than one of those build-a-abomination-against-nature-from-cadavers-and-lightning types.* Her power relies on genre conventions to work. In order to get Mad Science, one must act like a Mad Scientist. Since she doesn't act like one, she doesn't get as great results and has to rely more on actual science. *Although she knows the theory, because her mother is one of those. Wonderful childhood, that.

That's fine with me. Oh and I'm glad you like the little scars on her forehead....I figured the signs of a self lobotomy would be appropriate.

For the gunner I suggest that we give him one unique gun that is of value to him, something named. After that he can collect different materials to integrate into the gun and even physic-defying shots at later points.

I'm not sure that I like a solid gold one, I think it would look better with only a single prominent gold section along either the top of the barrel or the opening.

Always nize to have someone to put you back together again if something goes wrong.

Ok, and you'd like it to improve as the story advences perhaps becoming something akin to a hand held cannon near the end?

It wouldn't even have to change types of guns. It could be like your hat from NB, just gaining more components.
