So for the origin of the object, we don't have to reveal how the pen has its powers or how it was made, since the mystery behind the SCP is a large part of what makes them successful, but we do need to think up something interesting for how the Foundation found out about the SCP and acquired it.

Um, I think they would have D class do the testing in case something dangerous happens, but it would all happen under the governing of a higher up.

Shouldn't it be Safe?

I thought you classified things as Safe if they weren't dangerous as long as you left them alone.

Safe just means it can be contained without much trouble.

A nuke is Safe, because it won't go off when you stop paying attention.

Maybe you could give us a write up of what you plan to post?

For example: SCP-1959 is Elucid, despite not being presently harmful. No one knows how it got there, or what it's doing, or if it will suddenly do something else.

So it would be classified Safe I believe.

It can be contained easily, it only requires that nobody pick it up. It isn't fully understood yet though, which is why several tests are being done.

I think this would be the basis for the pen being safe and not Euclid.

As long as the pen is kept out of easy reach and not touched, nothing goes wrong. Then just keep ink and paper nearby in case of emergencies / accidents.

So does anyone have any good tests we could put the pen through to see what strange effects happen under special conditions?

Once we get that done we should just be able to write it up nicer and make everything sound correct.
