Yeah, it's not a big dead. I'm gonna use wonky science to justify a lot of things.

I'm not gonna kill ya with something stupid like that, I'm just saying that I can't promise you'll never be in a situation where turning on the water is a terrible idea. Whenever you're actually in danger I'm going to try and foreshadow it.

Square-Cube law.

There's a reason mice can fall two or three feet and not break anything, while humans falling an equivalent distance would almost certainly die.

Smaller, less force involved, lowered terminal velocity.

Oh, sure, sounds great.

I wanted to make self-contained quest-threads run by whoever was in the mood.

And Sascha thinks he's a pretty shitty medic.

Of course, she's rather judgmental.

from wikipedia

As was elucidated by J. B. S. Haldane, large animals do not look like small animals: an elephant cannot be mistaken for a mouse scaled up in size. The bones of an elephant are necessarily proportionately much larger than the bones of a mouse, because they must carry proportionately higher weight. To quote from Haldane's seminal essay On Being the Right Size, "...consider a man 60 feet high...Giant Pope and Giant Pagan in the illustrated Pilgrim's Progress.... These monsters...weighed 1000 times as much as Christian. Every square inch of a giant bone had to support 10 times the weight borne by a square inch of human bone. As the human thigh-bone breaks under about 10 times the human weight, Pope and Pagan would have broken their thighs every time they took a step."

I mean think about it. If a massive person such as a giant breaks their bones easily during proportional movements that a regular human could do easily. Then inversely a person of miniscule stature could withstand far greater strain than a normal human being during proportional movements.

Besides, I caught him before he could make impact with the ground. The act of catching does not equal the act of hitting the ground since I slowed his decent by lowing my hands slightly slower than his decent to cause him to decelerate.

So, since he was able to survive greater impacts in his diminished size and because I slowed his decent by catching him (not to mention he had a nice comfy surface to land on (i.e. my hands) he's fine.

Now seriously, move on.

Yes.

An elephant can break bones from falling a few feet.

Mice can survive falling far more than that.

Tougher bones are needed to bear more weight. They don't do well against even more weight.
