let's see....if his shrinking ability worked by removing atoms from himself to make him smaller it would basicaly result in the cells of his body basically falling apart in addition to none of the proteins in his body being able to work correctly, or even be formed at that point,

If his ability was removing specific cells, by decreasing the size of his brain he'd basically be lobotomizing himself to the point of  retardation.

in theory, if he could remove the empty space between the atoms of his body without destabilizing the atomic structure of said atoms, he'd simply become incredibly dense relative to the rest of the matter in existance...unfortunately he'd also be rendered unable to breath due to the size of the atoms themselves making them incompatible with the rest of existence.

so let's just say magic.

While that is an extremely inventive use of your power, the head is so far along in rot that it's not possible. It'd have to be either alive, or freshly dead, and of course you'd have to touch the persons head to do it.

Also, it's not a human leg sticking out of the oven. It's animal. I didn't mention that.

 I don't think anybody here has an issue with science. Though, just to stay on the safe side, and avoid problems of incredible brain pain, let's just not concern ourselves too much with the improbability of whatever powers we display. Some consideration, yes, but not too much if we can help it.
