(Let's move the plot forward some )

The two cultists seem capable enough to keep us from advancing down the hall. One continues to keep us at bay with flames, while the other protects them both with wards.

I hear some sound behind me and nearly launch an arrow into my warrior friend. "Glad you caught up, we need your help. Come here." I whisper to the warrior "I'll distract them with an arrow, that should also weaken his ward a little. I need you to use your warrior skills to charge in and create an opening for us so we can get down the hall."
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

I launch an arrow at the flame cultists head, as expected it is stopped by a ward but it causes him to flinch and stop preparing his most recent flame spell.

"Time to kick some cultist behind!" The helmet laughed.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

I draw my blade and it courses with power briefly before bursting into flames. I give it a few menacing swings and it leaves a trail of fire in the air.

"Now you shall know the true terror of my Blade's Magic"

I charge towards the cultists with my sword ready.

The stout cultist begins chanting in a deep voice, and a shimmering wall of force blocks most of the hallway.

Meanwhile, the younger starts focusing on a spell. An orb of fire sprouts from his hand and slowly begins to grow.

The flaming sword strikes the wall of force and causes cracks to spread across it.

(Could have sworn you said flame...oh well.)

I retrieve my blade and continue to strike at the wall.

"Duck" I yell as I unleash an arrow into the center of the crack as the spellblade moves out of the way, futher spreading the cracks and weakening the wall.

The younger cultist continues to let his fireball grow, now passing his head in size.

The elder appears to be drawing something on the ground, a rune of some kind.

Marv recognizes it as a trap-rune of some kind.

I edge my way backwards, ready to duck into the previous chamber when the fireball is set off. I'm at a disadvantage until I can get my arrows to them, so I wait for an opportunity.

"Look out for the-"

The rune explodes into a wave of force and electricity.

Jase is thrown backwards and lands face first onto the floor.

"Ouch. That had to hurt." Tobert said.

The shimmering force wall finally cracks..

And the younger mage unleashes his fireball, sending it roaring down the hallway.
