The Kethencian College of Magic RP (Part 2)

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Asoka walked out of her room stretching. It was time for her to try to find her Mage Tool. Now, where to start?

Asoka: "Hmmmm, I'll just wander around. Hopefully, I'll find it."

She wanders off leaving the encounter to chance.

[Philote]

"And what is stopping me from simply going on my merry way. There are dorm wings in either direction, a little job and you two won't be a problem."

So they were upperclassmen, meaning that they most likely had better magic up their sleeve. Maybe he could get them to give up their secrets before he tried to slip away. This was  fight that he would like to deal with at a later date.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Oh? You think you can get away fast enough? Why don't you try it?" Lennon grinned from ear to ear, revealing his pearly white teeth. He reached slowly into his pocket and and grabbed an object there. It was impossible to tell what it was as Lennons hand covered it up.

"Go ahead...make my day."

In the halls Asoka overhears two students chatting.

"Hey, you ever been to the history wing? They got all sorts of cool relics there from the college's history."

"The history wing? Man that sounds like a snooze fest. Why would I want to learn about history?"

"Naw man it's so cool down there. They got some sweet weapons from ancient times and some real neat paintings. I heard that you're even allowed to handle some of the replica weapons"

[Philote]

Zauber did not feel that his odds of escaping would change if he ran now or later, so he figured he would wait a little longer and see how talkative these two were. If they made a move, he would throw up a weak shield and make a run for it. He already had a yellow mote formed and at the ready.

"Yes, yes, you're very scary, but why don't you let the big guy do what he is here for. He should be making the threats, not somebody who has no power in comparison."

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Asoka turns walks over to the students talking about the History Wings and weapons. Those she definitely wanted to look at.

Asoka: "Excuse me, but I heard you talking about the History Wing. Could you tell me where it is please?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Lennon was stunned by Zauber's audacity. "Listen 'ere you little puke. I'm one of the most skilled fire mages at this school. I don't need Lug's earth magic for making threats. He may be the brawn but I've got the brains and the skill. So watch ya mouth."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Yeah sure. You go down this hall and turn right at the Death Wing. Then the History Wing is on your left about four halls down."

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Asoka bows in gratitude, "Thank you."

She walks off to the History Wing and enters it.

[Philote]

That is what he was waiting to hear. So he had fire magic, something long ranged it seemed by how he was treating his mage tool, and the big guy had earth magic and was hopefully slow for focusing on strength.

"So why are you hiding in his shadow, admit it he is your body guard to keep you from getting hurt. You can't possibly think you're better than him, not when a wind student like Eric can do more with fire than you can."

If Zauber focused his mana into a single small shield he thought he might be able to deflect an initial fire blast to give him enough time to outrun the other thug.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Inside were cases with displays of old items, models of the college from past years, photos of it's contruction, and replica weapons and spellbooks. A tall lanky man shifted silently among displays, dusting and cleaning the glass cases. He turned to face Asoka as she entered.

"Hello and welcome to the History Wing. Feel free to look around and ask if you'd like to learn more about something."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Lennon was furious. "I'll show you how powerful I am!" Lennon opened his hand to reveal a small spinning top. The top burst into flames and shot across the floor leaving a flaming trail in it's wake.

"BURN!"  

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Asoka: "I heard that we're allowed to touch the items in here. Is that true?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"It sure is. What better way to learn about this school's history than to hold it in your own two hands. Just ask the displays to let you hold it and they should comply."

[Philote]

That was Zauber's cue to act. He used what mana he had to create a shield in the path of the top's path, but not nearly as fast or as strong as it needed to be done.

The top bounced off the shield ad cut through Zuber's shoulder, catching his clothes on fire. He let out a gasp and flailed as he tried to put out the flames.

Lennon stared in horror as Zauber caught fire, his Mage tool spun lazily beside him. Lennon was stunned by what he had done, clearly he was not the skilled fighter he claimed to be. Without another word Lennon turnned tail and ran, leaving Zauber to help himself.

As Zauber burned he suddenly gelt a large hand pat out the flames. Lug calm smothered the flames with his stony hand. Once Zauber was safe from the fire, Lug raised a finger to his lips and trudged off to find Lennon. Clearly Lug was not as Lennon claimed either.

Asoka starts moving around admiring the craftsmenship of several of the weapons and asking for permission from the displays to hold them as needed. Eventually, she reaches a spot with several chakram and feels a pull towards one that was 10 centimetres across in diametre. Asoka looks at it and asks for permission from the display to hold it before reaching out to touch it. As soon as her fingers touch it though, it bursts into flames, purple ones. Asoka cries out, "Wh-what's going on?"

[Philote]

Zauber fell against the wall and sat down, breathing heavily. Maybe talking big had not been as good of a strategy as he thought. The two were clearly not as they seemed.

He would have to get some medical attention soon, but for now, Zauber was not moving anywhere.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

The man who was dusting the shelves turned quickly to see the fire.

"Oh dear! Could this be...Could this be your Mage Tool? How wonderful!"

Elsewhere Lug finnaly found Lennon sitting alone on a bench. He patted Lennon on the shoulder to comfort him. Lennon was still fuming.

"Why did he have to get hurt? All I wanted was his money! Damn that kid, I'm going to have to teach him a lesson for making me hurt him. I'll get him back Lug, I swear it.

It wasn't long before another student came across Zauber.

"Ohmygosh! Are you okay?" she cried.
