Alright, so for character options then:

Marked Ones: The perfect humans. Not really an option since they are extinct unless the plot revolves around them returning.
Humans: Imperfect marked ones
Changelings: Imperfect Humans, Spirit instead of Soul
Naturals: Animal-humans
Chimeras: Animal-Animal-Humans
Mannikins: Spirit Vessels. Not really option since they are mindless without instructions.
Revenant: Corpse. Not really an option since they are feral.
Fey Creature: Animal-Changling. Not really an option since they are feral.

Could you make a post about which are really the viable options or if we are allowed to be the exceptions to the rules for some. Could you also make a post explaining how the marked ones work. Is the mark the only thing distinguishing them from a human? How does the mark itself work-Is it a tattoo,some glowing thing, something they choose, something that results from how they use their power, etc? How strong where they with it? Can you lose/gain a mark?

The 4 really viable ones:

Humans
Changelings
Naturals
Chimeras

The list expands a bit when you add things like a characters profession and where they come from. A wandering Herculean, A Thorland Spec-op, a Spirit Forging engineer, a Zionis Monk, a Shaper, really anything. And that's not counting Natural species diversity or the conveniences of Spirit Forged Items.

Marked ones are pretty hard to miss: They're 10 feet tall, and each one that was created had a specific mark that glowed somewhere on their body. Each Mark was unique, and ranged from elaborate full body tattoos to a single design displayed predominantly on the hands or head. They didn't have powers any more than a human does, it's just that they were so much better at it. Also they're super strong, super fast, never get tired, don't need to eat or drink, don't age, and have enhanced senses. The mark is more of a serial number that Zion branded them with so he could tell them apart at a glance, and doesn't have power all it's own. Priests usually tattoo themselves with the make of their favored god.

I was thinking of a person who carries around a pouch of magic item tools and uses their special properties to tinker and tamper with other spirits.

You don't tinker with spirits directly, they're intangible in the physical world. Unless you men he does maintenance on other Magic Items?

Well Magic Items, Mannikins, and a lot of the living things all have Spirits/Souls inside them, so he uses his tools to tinker on how those spirits react with what they are within.

Magic items would probably be his specialty. I was thinking one of his magic item tools would be a pair of ornamental chop stick like prongs. He would touch two places on a magic item and send a pulse from one chop stick to the other. As the pulse moves through the item it creates sort of a wire and he keeps doing this on different locations on the magic item till it is reworked how he wants.
