well, here's all I had written so far. And maybe if an RP does not interest you, maybe just designing mechs will?
Pilots control large robots called mechs to fight against one another in an effort to gain control of the precious little resources earth has left. Factions, gangs, armies and packs have risen from the rabble to create forces that clash heavily in this eternal war.
Fortress Class Fortress Class Mechs are the largest and slowest of the three types. They are mainly used as moving bases or Transport for smaller mechs and supplies. They’re slow speed is made up for in firepower and personal defenses. They are essentially roving mechanized fortresses. Fortress Class Mechs Tend to lack the Locks used in Mech Fusions due to their massive size, however a few have special Locks installed internally.

Naval – Aquatic transport and Exploration
Arial – Arial Transport and Support
Cannonneer – Low Plains/Flat Land Transport and Heavy Firepower Support
Terrestrial – Solid Terrain Transport
Titan Class Titan Class Mechs are the main Mechs used in Battle. They range in size from the size of a large 18 Wheeler to the size of an office building. Most Titan Class Mechs are equipped with a number of Locks for Mech Fusion with Support Class Mechs. Titan Mechs are often themed or designed to look like a specific icon. They are also equipped with one or two main weapons and number of lesser support weapons.
Sub-Categories:
Humanoid – Human or Bipedal shaped
Bestial – Animal or Insect Shaped
Abnormal – Strange or uniquely shaped
Sub-Classes:
Knight – Weapon focused and front lines warrior
Specialty – Skill or Function based fighter (i.e. Flight Focused, Speed Focused)
Tank – Defense based defender and heavy weapons
Gunman – Long Ranged weapons and low defense
Support Class Support Class Mechs are small and fast, they are not meant for direct combat with Titan or Fortress Class mechs. Instead they carry essential upgrades and support abilities for other Mechs that can be accessed through Mech Fusion. A support Class Mech can change the tide in battle.

Arsenal Mech – Carries Fusion Based Upgrades to Weapon Systems
Power Mech – Carries Fusion Based Upgrade to Base Abilities
Mech Fusion: The process through which Mechs combine using Locks to form more powerful abilities and forms. The most common fusions are between Titan and Support Class Mechs but other combinations are possible through Specific Locks. As a general rule of thumb, when combined the Pilot of the greater mech Controls the movements and actions of the Fused Mech, while the pilot of the lesser mech gains control of the internal systems and abilities. The pilots must work as a team to control the combined mech.
Lock Types: Multi-Lock: These locks are usually located on central locations of a mech like the chest or back. They are receptive of all most every type of other Lock except Specific Locks. However they do not provide as powerful a fusion as other Locks. Most Mechs have at least one Multi-Lock
Specific Lock: These locks are designed to connect with only one other lock of the same kind. They provide the most powerful Fusions but are limited in use.
Magnetic Lock: This Lock type is only one way, allowing a Mech to combine with another mech that lacks a usable Lock. However, this overrides the magnetized mech’s controls, rendering it inert.
Local Lock: These locks appear on specific locations of a mech such as the arms, legs or back. When combined thy provided upgrades to only a specific area or system of the mech. Because of the localized effect some Local Locks aren’t compatible with certain support Mechs.
