What's wrong with being a lurker? At least I was prepared for membership when I joined, unlike many new members (not calling names here ). Only good came out of my case.

Besides, I wasn't sure if my parents would let me join at the time.

Hey Philote? Has anything in your life been different since you acquired Superpower List Link? Here are mine:
1) I had bad luck for a few days, but that cleared up.
2) I have "felt" thoughts, knowing what a person is thinking about, but not knowing what their thought is.
3) I quickly finished my Chemistry test (which I had forgotten about, thus not studied) with confidence, despite normally failing in that subject.
4) I was able to get an English assignment done in less than 2 hours and 10 minutes, minus a large, unknown amount of time spend doing other things. I usually cannot focus on things.
5) I feel I can run slightly faster now.

Might be coincidence, but I'm testing all possibilities and remaining hopeful. This is an experiment and it's not over until it's over. I've tried Telekinesis, but it didn't work.

Maybe some will develop but others will take longer -I have always taken longer to master a physical skill than most but I have mastered a new mental skill quickly (with exceptions, like foreign languages). I'm going to try Power of Imagination, for several reasons:
-It was the first acquired on the site.
-I have often though something in the past and it happened a few weeks-months later, often in similar circumstances. Hasn't happened recently though.
-I am creative; if there is one power I can manifest, it's this one.
-If I could activate it, I could get my others as well.

P.S. It's 10:34 over here right now, so my ramblings might seem a little sanity-deficient.

Cool! Precognitive Amnesia!

Good luck on your experiment, Myself, but I severely doubt it'll happen.

Hear that, Phi? PLEASE don't go jumping off any buildings trying to fly. And don't run into traffic; I HIGHLY doubt you're invulnerable.

If you DO have any powers, I'd suggest you let them come to you.

Maybe I've gotten super luck, I've had to take 5 different college credit tests and i swear i guessed on more of them than i was actually able to answer, so hopefully luck power kicks in.

That or superpowerlist is trying to force me into getting Power of Hard Work, for all the work my teachers are cramming in, I had planned to get it today before.

Re: Rapture Virus

Name: Joseph Walker
Rapture: Corpse Resurrection; Joseph can revive in any corpse on Earth. He also can communicate with any bodiless rapture, so he can talk to his sister and brother (since his telepathy enables him to form a connection between them).
Side effect: Since his power does not restore the body, he is a walking corpse. His bite spreads the rapture virus.
History: He was one of the earliest recorded victims, surviving for thousands of years, each one furthering his plan.
Side: He lead a team of raptures, many of which he creates, to conquer the world and rule it for eternity, as he and his siblings will never die.

Name: Nathan Walker
Rapture: Worldwide rapture link. This gives him
-A telepathic connection to all living raptures on Earth. This allows him to use read the thoughts of all non-telepathic rapture and communicate with any telepath on Earth.
-Can use any living rapture's power/s, but this comes with the side effects.
-Mimicked powers are boosted around raptures.
-Immortality: Can possess an unconscious rapture upon death.
Side effect: Varies; it is different for each mimicked power. His original side effect is unknown due to his access to shapeshifting.
Weaknesses: Telepaths can attack him from range, when isolated his powers are weaker and he only has access to the powers of living raptures (defined as those with bodies -those in a spirit form are immune to his mimicry) -as time goes by, he loses powers he likes and gains a completely new set. He also cannot affect raptures with mimicked powers directly (though enchantments deal with this issue) and the original holder of the power can manipulate his copy while he is using it.
Known mimicked powers:
-Shapeshifting: He disguises side effects, shifts to maintain youth and uses to sysnergise with other powers.
-Telepathy: Has often used mind control to get his way and illusions when he lacked shapeshifting.
-Teleportation: To get to his base and distant areas on Earth.
-Enchantment: Made a band to teleport other raptures.
-Superhuman strength: Smashed a rapture with a car at one point.
History: Is allied with his brother Joseph and sister Mary with the deal that Joseph create more raptures and Mary will record what he learns. However, he has his own agenda, not directly helping his brother. All have been alive for thousands of years.

Name: Mary Walker
Rapture: Mary has the collective memory of the entire human race, but raptures are immune. She can also speak with any telepath, who often "donate" memories for her to absorb.
Side effect: Mary died thousand of years ago and is now an incorporeal spirit making her immune to her brother's mimicry. She is naturally very curious and is hungry for knowledge, so she happily works with her brothers.
Weaknesses: Like her brother, her power only works on living raptures, so she must store memories somewhere else to keep them for centuries.
Side: She works with her brothers, who learn about the universe in return for access to her archive of knowledge.

Walker pact:
-Mary is given information by her brothers, but she must in turn give them knowledge.
-Joseph will take over the world, but on the condition he create more raptures.
-Nathan wants powers, but he must give occasional help to his brother and discover knowledge to give to his sister.

They have even subconsciously formed a telepathic ring; a passive ring of communication between them, but compels them to help their siblings and protects them from each other's powers.

Name: Matilda "Tilly" Elwaine
Rapture: Viral Cloud Form; this allows her to
-disperse her body into a cloud of viral pathogens (a mutation of the Rapture Virus which deforms and sickens, but bestows no abilities)
-perceive other pathogens in her vicinity (even in normal form)
-incorporate other pathogens into her Viral Cloud Form to relieve infections by bacteria and viruses (including the Rapture Virus)
-withstand and exterminate any pathogen introduced to either her human form or her Viral Cloud Form
-leave one virus from her Viral Cloud Form within others' bodies to sicken them
-accelerate virus/bacteria incubation
Side effect: Her skin is constantly a sickly green (even though she is immune to the virus she constantly carries, and any others she picks up); in addition, her dispersal into a viral cloud leaves her naked, so she has to wear a suit of unstable molecules instead of normal clothes (this adaptive suit changes to her will, giving her an infinite wardrobe)
History: A British schoolteacher for a few years, she left for America when her rapture manifested, due to being constantly pursued to help remove raptures. How did she get here? Cloud flight across the ocean.
Side:  None. She's just looking for a new life. And if she can help better the world along the way, all the better. Naturally, she'll join ANY side she sees as a positive influence.

Name: Tobias Walker (not related to the walker trio, unless a distant descendant).
Nickname: The Sleepwalker
Rapture: A little confusing; this guy's rapture changes every time he goes to sleep.
Side Effect: Different side effect depending on the current power.
Side: It varies, since his personality changes regularly according to his power and form.
Consistent power and side effect: Tobias is healed of all injury as he changes form and appearance, in the process clearing him of all diseases and keeping him young (unless a power/side effect contradicts this).
Past changes: A pyrokinetic with a body of flame, a superstrong, armored brute, a telepathic mouse, among other things. In particular, he used his mouse form to control all the mice in New York to attack The Enchanter, since he had the key to ending his plans. Needless to say, it failed.

Very cool... I should do another.

Name: William Babcock
Nickname: goes by "Willy", "Willie" or "Billy"
Rapture: Bloodburning; can cause blood cells to release the oxygen within; upon contact with the blood's electrolytes, causes the body to burn inside out; requires touch, and is only ENHANCED if the foe has an open wound
Side Effect: Very sharp natural weapons (Fangs and Claws, which prohibit him from wearing shoes); also has continually spiking hair (can't get it to lay flat); in addition, his eyes change color at random times
Side: None; homeless after his mother put him out when his rapture manifested and he killed his brother by accident

Re: Rapture Virus

Myself
Administrator
Name: Unknown
Nickname: Prime
Rapture: Prime can turn into a lupine form, complete with senses, instincts, mode of movement and other features, but he keeps his human mind (except for instincts). His bite in wolf form spreads a disease.
Side effect: His canines are more pronounced, even in human form, with rougher hair and some other minor lupine attributes. He has also lost his mind completely due to the mental connection to his victims, who spread his power.
Disease: Can give others his power, with a few differences:
-Telepathic connection only applies to those they infect, those who they infect, etc.
-No transformation control or side effect. They change further into wolf form the more adrenaline in their system. They also lose their minds to the wolf. A full moon is associated with their attack/transformation for some people, turning them into full wolf form once they look at it.
-Without a human mind, the only thing that will turn them back to normal from a full or near-full transformation is falling to sleep (needs assistance due to the nature of adrenaline), drugs or emotional manipulation/telepathy.
-Their wolf activities increase adrenal levels, making them exponentially more transformed.
-If a rapture is infected, use of their powers will also cause change (with the thankful exception of passive powers) and these powers will get stronger due to the lack of human mind to limit them. The transforming raptures will also begin to use their power more frequently and be more obsessed by them. Luckily, once the transformation goes beyond a certain point, their powers, passive, psionic or otherwise, deactivate.
History: His rapture surfaced after being infected with rabies from a wolf and then going on a roller coaster (when he transformed for the first time, causing an epidemic). There are at least 10, 265 werewolves in New York, 326 in Melbourne and 60, 739 in France, where he spent the majority of his life after turning.
Side: Neutral, he simply wants to rid himself of his cursed rapture to live a normal life or at least get a different one. Several raptures tried curing him, but he was always reinfected, either by remnant viral particles or other werewolves. In any case, he always regained his old power in exactly the same way, due to the virus's genetic code.

Name: Pearl Overland
Nickname: Typhoid Pearl
Rapture: Pearl can infect others with a form of the rapture virus which has the same effects in normal humans, but will reinfect raptures, removing their powers and replacing them.
Side effect: Pearl cannot touch anyone, since they will immediately mutate. She was at least once burned by Melinda Andrew who acquired a flame body and a several side effects.
History: Wishes she was not immune to her rapture, since her Christian family mutated into horrific forms and exiled her from her family because of what she had done, believing her to be a demon. If her rapture could be turned off, this would never have happened and if it worked on her, she would not have to worry about touching others. She wants to meet Prime, since he would benefit from the treatment and would slow the epidemic.
Side: She only helps the terrorist group "Raptures for Equality" because she sees it as a beneficial use of her powers; she can touch those who hate raptures and mutate them. In her free time, she works in a clinic which treats raptures with crippling side effects, bad powers or anyone else willing to take the chance of becoming a rapture. She saved at least 10 peoples lives from deadly side effects. Her secret mentor is the mysterious Enchanter, who gives her advice.

Name: Melinda Andrew
Nickname: Pyro
Rapture: Flame body, which can fire blasts of flame.
Side effect: Unusually for a rapture, Melinda's side effect is beneficial. Her hyper-accelerated metabolism prevents weight gain. When not using her powers, she needs to eat twice the normal amount. When using her powers often, she needs to eat five times as much.
History: Melinda was a perfectly normal human being until she became friends with Pearl Overland, who infected her when her rapture surfaced, in the process burning Pearl. Before her rapture, she was overweight and unhappy.
Personal Issues: Melinda needed a suit from The Enchanter (who she worked for) to withstand her power. Before then, she had the handicap of her clothes being burned, so if she used her power to their full potential (as she liked to do), she would incinerate her clothing, leaving her naked and in need of a source of clothing before switching her power off. However, she asked for a bikini, since she liked to show off her new body, allowed her body to heat up (oxygenation of a larger area) and could be worn under normal clothes.
Attitude towards rapture: Melinda sees her rapture as the best thing that happened to her; she became a size 0 -her dream weight - and did not have to worry about food intake.

See? Raptures can be fun to think up.

Rapture: Alternate Exhalation; Breathes in the normal gas cocktail, but upon exhalation, he breathes out a mysterious gaseous substance, which dissolves non-living matter, wilts plants, and causes animals and humans to fall unconscious (and lose memory of the previous 24 hours upon returning to consciousness)
Side effect: Fuller cannot hold his breath or he'll immediately lose conscious (and lose memory of the previous 24 hours upon returning to consciousness)
History: Former prisoner, who gained his power the day before he was to launch his plan of escape
Side: (Formerly) none; (Now) works alongside Harley Gates and Natalia Vade

This post was updated on .
Name: Steven Harriot
Rapture: Adaptive Regeneration, allowing him to heal stronger and faster upon injury.
Side effect: Steven now can only feed on blood and sunlight kills him, since it blocks his ability. He has fangs and these transmit his rapture and power to someone else.
Disease: Steven's disease acts on death, bringing the person back as a vampire. If he feeds on a human corpse (as he prefers to do) or the person dies before the infection takes effect, they come back as mindless abominations without other raptures, as opposed to keeping their human mind and any rapture traits.
Side: Steven is trying to turn all other raptures into vampires like him and use them to conquer the world.
