Fox Shapeshifting to eat the aforementioned bunnies..

And with Superpower Shifting,  Depending on the power you have, there are a number of alternatives.. If you shoot concussive beams of light from your finger tips, I'd recommend you just keep blasting until you find out where they're blasting from. (Lets say your feet)  Aim, Fire, and watch them fly through a wall.

Re: Power Negation on Natural Abilities?

I personally think that the negation of abilities within alien species would only occur if the superhuman/alien/entity had abilities not innate to their species; otherwise, you're not just negating abilities, but you're making them into humans (which would be weird, if their baseline being is not human or humanoid...) \

OR

the negation would just negate mental/non-physical abilities, not any powers based on physiology (the user would be able to retain his horns, wings, tail, etc., but would lose the power telepathy,  telekinesis, precognition, energy projection, etc.)

Re: Anti Powers.

Myself
Doesn't matter; I recently made a power called Forced Reversion which could enable the defeat of a Perfect Immortal. This power, when used on something, will undo any change done to it by superpowers. This only includes direct effects -if I telekinetically lift a log, someone with this power could stop me easily, but if I dropped a log on them, this power could not stop it falling.

It cannot be adapted against, so if you use it against someone with Perfect Immortality, they are forced back into their natural form, losing their adaptations until they regain them again through normal means -they keep the other parts of their power, but while you're around they can't use their power. In combination with  another power, they could easily be defeated -you just need to get around the immortality, invulnerability, self power protection and self sustenance parts of Perfect Immortality. Some such powers include (I can't possibly list all the possibilities for defeat of Perfect Immortality:
-Instant Storage -Store them in your mind once you have disabled their adaptations, where nothing can change, including them.
-Death -No adaptations, may not even need this power.
-The Power of Imagination -Without adaptation, you are free to warp as you please.

I'm actively resisting the temptation to launch into one of my rants about religion. Not because it could be offensive to anybody (in fact the purposes of my two rants are reconciling Christian doctrine with science and bashing intolerance), but because they are probably not wanted here.
All hail the king of dunces! You best hold on, I'm opening up my mouth.

we already dealt with the whole religion thing when JoeD made his return after a long absence, adn we've all made it clear; my beliefs, though posted here, are not meant to impose on anyone else's, put anyone else's down or trump anyone else's. These beliefs are mine, and that's all there is to say about it. Personally, the Internet is the last place I'd expect to have to be really politically correct,so as I requested when I first posted that passage, please bear with me.

Re: What if

Two Words:
Omni Vampire.

That power is designed to defeat omnipotence and as of today, it is still the only power on the site which could let you exist against omnipotence, let alone defeat them.

Of course, that's unless someone wants to pull the overcharged Perfect Immortality out again, but please don't do that, it's annoying. Besides, there are now powers which can stop it.

BALDERDASH and POPPYCOCK! Let's not get the Omni debate open again, pretty please! (And anyway, the very thought of a power like Omni Vmpire would imply that Omnipotence was limited, not INFINITE, power...)

Re: What if

Well, technically Omni Vampire doesn't limit omnipotence, it just uses it to kill the holder. Besides, saying omni vampire doesn't work because Omnipotence is limitless is like saying people with flight can't fly because gravity exists.

Anyway, he's a question: What powers would you need to possess to make you seem omnipotent? I say Omnipotent Power Mimicry and Con Negation -You could select any amount of powers and keep them forever, making it seem very like omnipotence. By the way, I realized this after I acquired those two powers; I chose Con Negation and Omnipotent Power Mimicry because they were both very good powers.

no it's actually like saying that Omnipotence is all-powerful and thus no power can overcome it. If you have all power, that would include all knowledge, including knowledge of how to use your powers wisely, as well as how to resist power negation or any other negating effects.

As for Omnipotent Power Mimicry and Con Negation, the two sound like a dynamite combination

Re: What if

It doesn't matter what Omnipotence allows you to do; Omni Vampire will destroy you, it's as simply as super strong people can lift objects.

Re: Anti Powers.

Myself
What about Omnipotent Power Negation? I've thought of some solutions:
1) Power Backup + Ability Imbuing: Store copies of your powers on cd and then make superpowered objects. During combat, use the abilities in objects you are carrying to fight your opponent, as it cannot sever objects from their abilities. After combat, pull out a cd and restore your lost powers -the original ones are no longer connected to you, but you can always install replacements.
2) Ability Imbuing: Do the same, but do the job of Power Backup using Ability Imbuing.
3) Power Backup + Energy Imbuing: Do the same as the first, but use energy - imbued objects instead of ability - imbued objects.

WHD came up with this idea:
3) Barrier Defiance + combative power: Be ready for the fight or simply find a flaw in the enemy's defenses before they touch you, regain your powers and defeat them.

Any other ideas? I'll confirm if they work. I do not like the idea of people thinking I am pulling a Perfect Immortality by saying "all you need is a good enough strategy" or something like that. Instead, I am showing you ways you could get rid of someone with this power once and for all.

Re: Anti Powers.

Wish
I'm assuming this is about Omnipotent Power Blocking

My first solution-------Fight in a place where your powers are absolutely needed; for example a floating stage that is powered by your powers

I don't think anyone would WANT to negate your power otherwise you would both die by falling-which to me isn't a really bright idea on the part of the omnipotent power negator-note this is not a power solution but a tactical solution

My power solution----

1. Powers that let you create pre-existing objects to be used later or the useage of any superpowered object

Command Disc

This power is to create discs that have your will. So even if you lost the power to create a disc you probably have a few discs that you already made.

2. Autonomous Powers

Fear Guardian-the ability is to HAVE a guardian made from fear-nothing changes about it not being connected to you it's autonomous to begin with so splitting it from you doesn't really change its function much.

3. Cursed Powers

Assuming from the description that this power negates a person's abilities, what about curses. For example, if you gained power from a curse would that be considered your abilities or just a curse. In other words if a power is not controlled by you and is a CONDITION inflicted by someone else would that fall under the category of your own power or not?

4. Power of Hard Work-nothing like good old fashioned fisticuffs to take out any superpowered person

5. Logic Defying, Toonforce---nothing beats saying that doesn't work on me because I don't think so, or it's not funny

Abandoned Powers

Josh
In reply to this post by Myself
So today I had a great idea for a power, logged on specifically to submit it, and then... lost it. I just could not remember the thing. I commented on like three other powers while trying to remember, to no avail. But it got me thinking about powers lost in similar manners.

So... does anyone want to post about powers that, for some reason or another, did not make it to the list? You couldn't get it to fit, you were worried about the rules, just didn't like the taste of it, anything like that. Just don't use this as a way to get around rejections.

So, I'll start with two series, rather than individual powers. I had this short little series of "Old One Powers" that were half-parody mythPowers with the Cthulhu Mythos rather than Greek Mythology. I had at least seven other powers actually written up, ready to post, when I just decided I was going too far with the joke posting that many. I can recall Ithaqua, Ghroth, and a Lesser Other Gods power.

Second, if you want to search for it, you'll notice I have the power "Temporal Artifact: Matchsticks." This was sort of a test for a series of Temporal Artifact powers. Had about eleven written up, but I decided I didn't like the idea and just trashed the whole thing.

Anyone want to share their stories or their forgotten powers?

Re: Abandoned Powers

Vespert
Moderators have access to the "Superpower Wasteland", where superpowers who are still waiting for their creators to click on the confirm link are laid to rest. (That is the link contained in the confirmation email, which we, registered users, rarely receive now)

I even saw a few powers with your name on it. (Fictional Disease and Pathogen God, abilities to create unrealistic pathogens. Are those yours?)
