Better not be talking about mine (especially not my MythPowers).

He wouldn't, due to the MythPower equation:

Oh, okay, thanks I feel better now.

And in all honesty, I agree. I don't really care for when those joke type powers actually come up as Daypower. Like, "Massive Feces/Poop". It kinda bothered me the whole day whenever I went on the main site.

Kinda made me wanna change it.

However, it DID give me a rather loverly idea for April 1st, aka April Fool's Day.

I've thought about the powers designed to give us our powers in real life:

1) SPL Mimicry 1: Ability Chain
Once you gain this power, you gain all of your profile powers. It only works if legitimately gained or through SPL Mimicry 2: Link.
2) SPL Mimicry 2: Link
Once you gain any of the SPL Mimicry powers, you gain them all. Likewise, once you gain this you gain all of the SPL Mimicry powers. This only works if gained by the SPL series or legitimately.
3) SPL Mimicry 3: Myself's Assistance
You gain this power, in functioning form, when you gain any of Myself's powers.
4) SPL Mimicry 4: Teamwork
When anyone with a functioning copy of this power gains their profile powers, so do you.

That's all I have so far.

Thank you for pointing out the misunderstandings. I shall explain them, both here and in the final draft:

#3: This would be useless, but it isn't due to #2. It's a way of ensuring more people have them (could be useful with some of these powers by increasing the chance and everyone deserves their profile powers).

"Functioning" means either legitimately acquired or acquired through this series.

Think 2 is a combo of powers........
@WHD: I've been wondering what is your definition of which power is a combo and which isn't, and which combo you would reject or approve, as you seem to see combos when I don't.

As far as I understand the Moderator Guidelines, it doesn't say we have to reject all combos. I think it's "reject powers that simply combine other powers without any other form of creativity". So, combining powers just for the sake of combining them should be rejected immediately (like that power to be a perfect human being and shoot electricity ; I think you flagged it and I edited it), but combos that manage to merge powers into a coherent whole should be considered.

Otherwise, it's very easy to see combos in any power, e.g. Time Travel = the power to travel to the past + the power to travel to the future, Time Manipulation = the power to stop time + the power to slow down time + the power to accelerate time + the power to rewind time, Telekinesis = the power to push a cat without contact + the power to pull a cat without contact + the power to move a cat to the left without contact + the power to move a cat to the right without contact + the power to raise a cat without contact + the power to lower a cat without contact + the power to hold a computer without contact + the power to push a scarf without contact + the power to pull a human hair without contact + the power to move a computer screen to the left without contact + the power to move a left woman shoe to the right without contact + the power to raise a table without contact + the power to lower a pot of red paint without contact + the power to hold an ice cream without contact +...

Well, there's a difference between power combos and powers with numerous uses.

Re: Power Orphanage 2

Well, someone could see combos in powers with numerous uses. Shapeshifting = roughly all the transformation powers on the List + the ones to come. Each one were/can be made into individual powers. Combined, they make a power called Shapeshifting.

I'm trying to understand what's WHD's reasonning to decide what is a combo and what isn't. I don't see how "the power to gain all the SPL Mimicry series if you gain one of them" could be a combo (on a side note, I don't even see it as a power, more like a rule; he could just put the mention "you'll gain all the other powers in the SPL Mimicry series, if you obtained this one legitimately" in the other three descriptions, it would do the same). Likewise, I submitted "the power to change any power technique you develop into a power", and he said it was a combo (of something and Anti Power Mimicry if I remember correctly). So, how are they combos? Is it because they allow to do multiple things?

Interesting you said that, as I was considering putting that in there earlier. I just thought having a dedicated power to do it might make it clearer to some, but if it's not needed, I won't put it in.

All three powers are up. If you have any ideas for other powers in this series, tell me.

I'm trying to think of a few myself.

In fact, if you want, you can make your own series (provided you use your own ideas) and we make powers which give you the powers in one series if you gain one in the other. If you make one to grant itself to people with a person's created powers, make sure that person is you.

OMG! I just found out something that is outright awesome!

I know I've mentioned a couple times, the amazing Internet Archive that keeps track of a great deal of edited and deleted websites, right? Well, get this! One of the pages that has been archived on the Internet Archive is the page on the Superpower List where you can Add a Power!

I've added that page as the very first one of this thread, and so NOW you can add and edit powers, even after the Over Quota has popped up onto the main site.

The only problem is that you can't submit them to the main site, but it doesn't keep you from copying and pasting them to a Word document, to save them for later.

It's a great way to keep active on the site, even when it's down.

And if you want to bookmark the main page, for later access (as I have for myself), here's a link for even quicker access (please allow a couple seconds to load; if it takes too long, press the link at the bottom of the page that says "Impatient?"): http://web.archive.org/web/20110716165014/http://www.superpowerlist.com/add/

You can also use the Internet Archive to browse an older version of the Superpower List.

Er... Nope. You can't add powers, nor edit them this way. Not that I tried, but it's just technically impossible. The Internet Archive retrieves and saves datas, but it can't send any. It's an archive, so you can't do much outside of what's been saved. For example, even though the login page has also been archived, you can't log in, because the website can't send your account datas to the real site. And, of course, since you can't log in, you can't edit powers.

As for browsing through an older version of the site, I'm sorry to say that not a lot of pages have been saved (compared to the huge number of pages the site had then)
