Mina lands another blow against atlas. It does not cripple the strange creature, but leaves a nasty scar as the gel that makes up the Endreakian tries to form together.
The armor on Atlas' legs separates, and the hero stretches his legs causing him to jump into the air. While he is up in the air, Atlas forms a blade and causes it to stretch and launch down towards Mina.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

Kagehana watches the match between Atlas of the Endreakians and Mina the Sly of the Boquabians, the Boquabian was a fast little fighter, lithe and adept but her opponent would be trouble if he won, though hopefully Nayotake, Taro or someone else would give her time to formulate a strategy against Atlas. --------------------------------------- Having finished making the Reino Tessen, Illusia and Suna work on creating another Artifact, the Anathema Scythe (-6 motes, Create Artifact). This one would be for Taro if he won his second match. (Total: 1 mote)

The nameless goddess of architecture wandered into the seats of the arena.
"Oh, what is this?" She exclaimed with glee.

Mina frowns. How the heck is she supposed to damage this thing?
But she must quickly put the thought out of mind to dodge yet another impending attack. She dodges with lessened ease, and prepares to search out yet another potential weakspot. When she got out of this battle, she'd have to ask Uburra-Namall for a major upgrade.

Atlas lands back down on the arena, and slams his swords into the ground as he does so. The swords stretch below the surface and come up towards Mina from below.

(Thirteen [13] motes plus twelve [12] motes [three for every day, over the course of four days] leaves me with 25 motes)
As Draias came to a close for the day, Uburra-Namall smiled on him from on high. She was most pleased with his efforts, and his ingenuity in invention made her feel like inventing, herself. Of course, she was no craftsman, no builder like the master craftsman Crav, but she was easily gifted in making things with a woman's touch. After all, how hard could it be to make some new creatures? If she really wanted to be new and bold and daring, all she had to do was put a spin on some things that existed already. That being said, she looked down, and searched for some creatures that could use some sprucing up. She first chose a songbird; its small and frail frame was stretched and beautified, and clothed in lustrous flame. Every few generations, she would lay a single empty egg. To incubate her egg, she would burst into flame, thus giving its own life to preserve its offspring. The ashes of the parent's immolated body would leave behind its fiery, flaming spirit, which would pass into the empty egg, and form into a new baby bird, for the process to repeat itself in another few generations. This avian miracle would be called...the Phoenix, a shining, beautiful living beacon for man to aspire to immortality through the life he lives. (Create Mythical Being [Phoenix]: minus three [3] motes= twenty-two [22] motes) Next, the goddess took an eagle, and a lion. Though, in all honesty, she considered putting them back. What to do with them? She pondered. The eagle was already handsome, and powerful, and envied of other birds. The lion was already king of land beasts, master of all places he desired to call home. And so, she decided, why not simply combine the two? This creature would grip the skies with stoic power, and stalk land with brooding menace, and yet one brave and noble enough to tame it would have a loyal companion for life. Furthermore, to prevent having to replicate an action needlessly, she would make the first a female, pregnant with both male and female offspring. It would be called the brave and mighty Gryphon, a symbol of royalty and valor. (Create Mythical Being [Gryphon]: minus three [3] motes= nineteen [19] motes) After that, the goddess brought up three horses to her home. They each seemed so beautiful, she knew that anything she did with them would be magnificent. And so she started on the first, and she already had the improvement in mind. Jissei had taunted her for some time how she had made horses such wimpy creatures, despite their size, and so, she would make this one fierce. A great horn grew from its forehead, long and spiraling like a natural lance. Its hooves were cloven, like a goat's, to improve its buck attack. Its tail straightened out like that of a lion, to thwack any foe who dared to approach it. Even a goat's beard for the males, to make them yet more masculine. And the irony of it all? Only the meekest, most virtuous WOMAN would be able to tame them. If nothing else, it would teach men the value of their woman. The pure-white Unicorn would even be able to interbreed with normal horses. (Create Mythical Being [Unicorn]: minus three [3] motes= sixteen [16] motes) Now, for the second horse. It would be a challenge to outdo the beauty of the Unicorn, but she would be more than happy to try. Hm...she thought. Fins? No, she would have to figure out something like that later. More horns? No; other horn patterns on a horse looked ridiculous in her mind. Multiple tails? Multiple eyes? Multiple other body parts? No, no, no. She had it in an instant; wings...Yes, that was it, wings. A great, white flying, fast-running steed to signify the connection between the mortal plane and the divine. It would speak with the birds of the air, and the horses of the field, and be elusive, to symbolize the significance of developing a relationship with the divine. The Pegasus would have honor among gods and men, and it, too, would be able to interbreed with normal horses. (Create Mythical Being [Pegasus]: minus three [3] motes= sixteen [16] motes) And for the last horse, Uburra-Namall assured herself she could think of a final equine masterpiece. She must. Not fins, not horns, not wings, not scales, not claws, she thought...until finally another idea hit her. And when it did, she smiled. The third horse's head disappeared completely, and in its place sprung up the body of a humanoid! It was a peculiar thought, but the sight of it in real life was spectacular. She was lovely, and possessed a wild untamed beauty, and would represent the all-important connection between mortals and nature. This beautiful creature would be called a Centaur (or, more properly for her gender, a Centauress). And she, too, would be born pregnant. (Create Mythical Being [Centaur]: minus three [3] motes= thirteen [13] motes) Now, Uburra-Namall was getting the hang of this creative creature creation thing. The only problem would be finding a final creature to improve. For now she could find none. Far and wide, she searched for some creature or another, to beautify. And yet she had to be honest, her bias kept her from being too critical on any of them. They seemed so...pretty. Just fine as they were. Perhaps, after all-- She spotted, at last, the perfect candidate for her final makeovers. There, in his bed, was a poor old Boquabian man. Purple-blue, with freckles and hair gray from birth, he lived alone with his wife, who was bedridden with an illness that threatened fatality, due to mistakenly eating a poisonous plant. The goddess took pity on the two mortals, humble and seeking assistance, but finding none from their fellow mortals. She descended and beckoned to the old man as night nearly fell. He resisted at first (claiming he wasn't nearly worthy to be among the immortals), but the goddess assured him that he wouldn't have to worry about immortality (at least not true immortality). The love goddess only wanted to take care of he and his wife; to reward their pious devotion to her. In exchange for their cooperation, of course. And so, the man spoke with his wife. She couldn't agree fast enough, which settled it. Their lives would change forever. First of all, they would be made young again. And their lives would be extended greatly, to the point neither of them would feel the reality of age until death was very nearly upon them. Not to mention, their senses and reflexes would be heightened, as well as their agility, accuracy and dexterity. They would even gain supernatural knowledge and power bestowed only to very few other Boquabians...namely magic. Though, a final touch would be needed to keep the Boquabians from jealously pursuing them. For this, their skin would be lightened, their ears pointed, and their statue diminished; slightly smaller than those 'hyoo-mans' Uburra-Namall had seen in Spectropolis. And their new identity, for the life they would establish in the woods? Elves. (Create Mythical Being [Elf x2]: minus [6] motes= seven [7] motes left) And when Uburra-Namall had finished her creativity session, she opened a portal to all different sides of The Mountain, and sent them all off in different directions. They would each receive a preternatural month, undisturbed, to establish themselves in the lands and build up their populations to thriving levels. Their diversity would further beautify her land, and make her proud, which was a reward in and of itself.

Sonia had finally broken down and decided to approach the cave.
"Hello?"
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

LATE LAST NIGHT...
The Reasonable nodded back, and the three of them set off across the sea, to the Land of Mik Hael. They flew in silence, before finally seeing the large crystal tree that marked his territory. "A-a-all ri-right Grace, W-w-where do you guys li-li-live here?" The Reasonable found it impossible to keep the tremble out of his voice. For all he knew, he was walking into a trap. The Babysitter had no such fears. "Or, y'know, spend their time?"

"At the very top." Grace said gazing towards the pinnacle of the crystal structures. "It's a small castle constructed out of the crystal directly above the center of the continent."

They make the way high into the trees branches and come to the castle, it's large crystalline doors shut and bared. The Babysitter walks up to them and rears back her leg, before the reasonable leaps forward and grabs it.
"What do you think you're doing?" "Well, we're investigating aren't we? We can't do that if we're outside." "Look, lets not cause any unessential anger. Besides, I don't think you could kick it down." He says, setting her leg on the floor and moving in front of her. He raise his arm and knocks, polity, on the door.

The knock reverberates throughout the crystal for several seconds before the surface of the door begins to ripple. A second letter a crystal outcropping forms from the center of the ripples into a humanoid eye, which looks at them for several seconds before turning green and receeding back into the crystal...an instant later the door liquifies reaching out and incompassing the groop in a tunnel leading into the inside.
Grace: "Don't worry. It's just a defence that Mik Hael set up, the guys to paranoid. I'm still on the welome list so we should be ableto keep going without any danger." |
"W-w-ww-wwell that's good to know." The new god had almost had a heart attack when the door had reached out to grab them.
"That felt so weird. It was so gross." The Babysitter said this fondly, with a huge grin on her face. "So, where to now?"

Grace: ''The interior hall." Grace said looking forwad into the long winding cooridoor. Further ahead it twisted and spiraled. "Usually it's a straight shot to the throne room, but it looks like somone set up the defence measures...Don't worry thoughI should be able to just form a passag stragith through." Grace focussed and the cooriddor writhed andd constricted, unjulating in several places before suddenly hardening into a long tunnel towards the center of the castle.
|
"Alllllright, lets go!" The Babysitter sprinted ahead, straight down the hallway, stars in her eyes.
"Proceed with caution! Proceed with caution!" The Reasonable called after her. "Wait for us!" He began moving down the hall after her.

The halwway snaked around the castle, looping several times to avoid rooms before emptying out into a large room similiar to a cathedral in structure, except several times the size. Light seeps in from crystaline windows lining the walls and cieling. In the center of the room is a large crystal pillar, the Heroes are milling around it, some leaing against walls, others lying on the floor of the castle, or just floating about in the air. Dephos kneels in front of it silently.
|
There was a tense air about the room. This was a delicate situation, to be handled with care and-
"So, the heck going on?" The whole room turned to stare. Or we could be direct. Why not? "I believe my young friend-" "We're the same age." "My young friend has forgotten her manners. Hello, I'm am the Reasonable, this is the Babysitter. We were just escorting Grace home after the dreadful incident you left so suddenly. Is everything all right?"

Dephos' phrom rippled and a wave a black and white flames exploded outwards as the crystal of the room rumbled and darkened before suddenly stopping.
Archiver: "Dephos!!..."she sighed, and walked towarsds the gods, "I'm sorry it's hit her more than the rest of us...she's one of his oldest creations after all." Grace: "What are you talkking about? Where's Mik Hael." Archiver: "...inside of there."she turns her head towards the crystal monolith in the center of the room. If you focus, you can just mak out th eoutline fo a humanoid figure suspended in it's center wrapped in strands of darkness. |
