"It's been a pleasure doing business with you you, Lo-Kag." He says, shaking his giant hand. The Watchman mused that his whole head could fit in Lo-Kag's palm. Despite his shortcomings, Gilgamesh knew how to design a strong race.
"Now, lets get to work on sending these people home. I'm sure their families will be ecstatic." And work was commenced, as the watchers above scattered, returning to their posts in other parts of the world.

Gilgamesh observed the Watchman's work from where he had moved to on the shardmind's mountain. "He really did get carried away with himself." Gilgamesh says to Yojimbo. "Altering my land so freely. Things have worked out in my favor though, the Goliaths will be stronger than ever and I have suffered no loss for letting the Watchman have his way with the slavery."
"Still, it would be good to keep the Watchman busy so that he doesn't continue to interfere." Yojimbo responds. "If you will allow me, I will go visit a spirit close to here that has had dealings with the Watchman in the past. I will do my best to undo what the Watchman broke." Gilgamesh nodded and said"Whatever you are planning to do, do not let those Watchers learn of your involvement" and Yojimbo turned to leave for Hazet's palace. Gilgamesh's people had learned a lot about the outside world through trading without having to invade another territory themselves.

The great civil war of the former empire had cooled to a mere antagonism between two forces.
To the west was a kingdom of stone and iron. Grand castles rose everywhere, and well stocked armies rumbled across the plains. The ruler was a King so reclusive that few people ever saw him, but were still bound by his laws. Already a great wall was being constructed to separate the Kingdom from the nation to the east. To the east was a loose confederation of states and nations all bound together by the ruling class of Sorcerers and Magic Users. Political squabbles and power-plays keep the confederation from doing much beyond protecting itself from the Kingdom. National pride abounds, as each component nation loudly expresses their virtues and dominance. Of course, the Capital City of the former empire was left well alone. No army, no mage cabal, no people would go within a mile of the place, save for those still devoted to Hazet. Those few moved through the grand city dressed in somber clothing, mourning the silence of their god. The palace-temple still stands, guarded to insure that none would disturb the god-emperor. (Hazet probably has 20 motes by now.)

Yojimbo walks up the steps of the palace and greats the guard at the gates. "I wish to speak to Hazet" he commanded.

After an arduous climb, the Shadow-Scarred final passed the inner gate into the city. A large street stretched out before them, illuminated by glowing orbs of magic. All around them were people talking, laughing, bartering and rumor-mongering. Stalls run by Sea-Hags peddling mystic wares stood side-by-side with Dwarf jewelers selling items of breath-taking beauty. Draemar dressed in vibrant clothing debated politics with slim Durhians. Endreakians shaped like wing serpents danced above buildings and between flitting orbs of magic.
Beside a soaring fountain towered a bronze-skinned Draemar woman, dressed in red and covered in excessive amounts of jewelry. Bangles, pendants, amulets, rings, ankles.. it was a wonder she could walk without stirring up a storm of noise.

"Of course! Where would you like to go first?" Amalia says enthusiastically, "I'm so happy to get away from yet another boring debate on the proper arrangement of magic-lanterns."

Kagehana: "Let's go see somewhere that they sell hair decorations."
Kizuato: "K-k-kagehana! Shouldn't we go look at other thingsfirst?" Akako: "No! I agree with Kagehana! The imps can't make anything nice-looking with their horible dexterity." Hoseki: "Give it up Kizuato. We're not going to win this argument."

"There is this one jeweler who makes the best decorations for anything." Amalia began as she lead the shadow-scarred off down a crowded street, "I'm one of his best customers!"

"Yes, but I am honor bound to attempt to stop you anyway."
The guard lunges forward, sword angled low.

"Fair enough. Since I do not want to anger Hazet at the moment by killing you, I'll do this."
The sword bounces off Yojimbo's armor and with a quick strike of his armored hand, he knocks the dwarf out. Continuing forward, he does the same to the second guard before entering the palace.

The palace is wholly vacant, covered in dust and bitterly cold. Grand halls and wondrous rooms lay empty.
Far off, one can feel the low thrumming of godly power.

The Sorceress shows them to the cities market place, past people selling food and exotic goods. She carefully avoids one Sea Hag selling demon-repelling talismans, in case the Shadow-Scarred would be offended.
They see many goods, stalls and shops. Jewelers, Tailors and countless others shout their wares and barter endlessly. Amalia politely foots the costs for anything the Shadow-Scarred buy. As the time approaches noon, she leads them to a quiet park-like place to rest. Strange trees with blue and purple leaves, and red grass grow in the light of magic above the city. "I hope you're enjoying the city. I remember my first day visiting the market place." Amalia said happily as she sat noisily on a stone bench.

There is no audible response, but the air in the palace seems to stir and grow even colder.
