[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Gil" He said, nodding his head in the Gods Direction. "When we parted ways last time we were on good terms, nice house by the way, but now I come to find that you island is plagued by slavery, a practice that directly contradicts my domains. Now, normally, I would not be so forward about this. When dealing with mortal affairs I prefers subtlety. A few fliers, some rebellious talk, a few charismatic heroes of the people given almost superhuman abilities."

His tone, once light and jovial, had taken on an accusatory tone "But, I learned recently, this is not a mortal affair. That you were the one to inspire this societal cancer. Now, I'm reasonable, you know that. So, lets talk about UN-inspiring it."

[Philote]

"You seem so full of rage. If you didn't have the signs of a hero about you, I wouldn't be reacting so peacefully." Gilgamesh says.

"Now would you have rather have me let the Goliath race die out?"

[Zaleramancer]

 I shall call Amalia. She will no doubt be ecstatic for a chance to flee a few council meetings.

The Giant almost seemed amused by the idea. A nearly undetectable pulse emanated from it, leaping off towards the city. It was soon answered by a weaker pulse.

Enter. She shall meet you near the inner gates.

The Giant waved a hand to the side to indicate that they may pass. Behind him was a short path that lead to the Demonwall, which still oozed divine power. The white smooth substance that made it seemed unbroken along the bottom, but balconies and buildings- entire rounded towers- broke through higher, leaving one the strange impression of a city breaking free from stone. A large gate stood at ground level, the doors already opening to show a set of wide stairs.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"There are a thousand ways you could have saved them besides this. Blessings, increases in birth rates, giving them some new weapon or a hero to tip the scales. Why did you decide on slave holding?"

[Philote]

"The Goliaths have been at a disadvantage with the Dragonborn since their creation, to the point of nearly becoming extinct. I gave them the workforce to rebuild. All my race have an understanding of war, the Goliaths and the Dragonborn knew what they were getting into. The Dragonborn that lost honorable were taken to the Goliath's camps, and even then their condition was never terrible. Would you have me take away part of the Goliath's way of life just as they are coming on equal terms with the other races?"

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Kagehana motions for the other three to follow her. Hoseki asks her in a whisper, "Why did you agree with them to let go of the Kagenoobara so easily, Kagehana?"

Kagehana chuckles softly, "Don't worry. The Shadowscape extends to anywhere that there is a shadow including my own, so if we are attacked then I can retrieve it quickly enough."

The four reach the gate and walk in.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"It seems to me that if you had treated both races equally, the Goliaths would never have faced extinction in the first place. You still haven't answered my question; why slavery? If it was a workforce they needed, you had the ability to create one."

[Philote]

"You forget my domain is Conflict. Look at the Dragonborn and Goliath today. They would never be as strong as they are now if they weren't pushed to the limits of the heroes they could be."

"But more importantly, you forget whose territory this is. You are outnumbered. Any victory or defeat my races face is mine to give them."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"You seem to be under the mistake impression that I care about something like territory. The World is my territory. That includes every living being on it. And right now, some are being held, despite fair conditions, against their will, away from their homes and families and the joy of battle. Now, I am willing to devote all of my power to solving the population problems the Goliath face, if you will let me. Equilibrium and endless conflict will be yours, all you have to do is tell your people that the slavery stops."

[Philote]

"Don't be mistaken, your reach is not as far as you think it is here. But as I have said, the Goliaths need for slavery is almost over and they can be equals with the other races."

"And since you owe me for the needless attack on my people, listen to this. If you wish to bolster my people's power and as a side effect, remove slavery, then go forth and give them a gift that would satisfy me."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Understood, King of Heroes. I will do my level best."

The Watchman exited to portal through which he entered, and was again in the quarry. He searched out the Goliath from earlier, and said "You seem important. What's your name? I need to know in what ways the Goliath are lacking in comparison to the other races of this land. I've been empowered by your God to correct this, so that you will have no more need of this." The Watchman gestures to the slaves.

Lo-Kag tells his name and explains what shortcomings the Goliaths have faced from being bested by the Dragonborn.

(Just make something up . They have less power than the Dragonborn and probably less supplies and soon to be less workers.)

Population was down and a lack of natural resources was putting them behind the Drogonborn in terms of power. This seemed like it would require quite a bit to fix.

First, he reached withing Lo-Kag and conferred upon him and his people a blessing of Fertility. From this point on, until they were at equal population strength to the Dragonborn every coupling would produce a healthy child. (-1)

Unfortunately, that wouldn't solve the problem by itself. The Children would need time to grow and learn. To this end, The Watchman sought to give the Goliath a buffer.

He spread out his arms and let his power sink into the land itself. Concentrating, he sought a border, the point where Goliath land became Dragonborn land. When he found it, he whirled his arms in an upward motion. The ground began to tremble and shake, and a mighty mountain ranges grew from the ground. treacherous and jagged, with many labyrinthine, twisting paths that would take years to map, much less march an army through. The lack of constant battle would help the population swell. The mountain rock also contained numerous natural mineral deposits: Iron, gold, copper, marble, and any other you could think of all waiting to be reveled by an entrepreneurs pickaxe. (-2)

With a sweep of his hand the seed it with life. Wild plants, trees, fruits and vegetables, animals such as yak and birds and goat. (gonna say I used up about 5, I put a menagerie in these mountains.)

With a final hand motion the watchman whipped up a storm at the mountain peaks. Soon, water would come down into the land from the mountain, carrying with it vital nutrients. With this would come rivers, and with them fertile river valleys ripe for farming. The rainstorm would do well to get the process started. (-1)

"That should be do nicely. Think of it as sacrificing lopsided battle now for more glorious battle later. Now, the prisoners, they'll be released?"

"There is still one problem that remains. Battle has been in our blood since our creation. We will never prosper unless we have a worthy opponent to test our skills against. Keeping the Dragonborn slaves means little to us with this new land, but becoming idle will destroy my kind. We would have to turn to the shifters or shardmind to test our mettle."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"You need not remain idle. You have a massive opponent before you. Why not battle against the mountain itself? Plumb it's depths and peaks, test yourself against the creatures that inhabit it, and reap the spoils of victory over it. I'm sure you will find it a most worthy adversary. It will not give up it's richest easily."

"Or," he said, sudden inspiration filling him, "Why not just fight, instead of making war. Have your groups meet at some predetermined time and place and just have it out. No one dies, and the winners get a nice prize and the honor of having won. If you think about it, it's just what you've been doing up until now, minus the bloodshed."

[Philote]

Lo-Kag grinned, so he wouldn't have to give up fighting after all. "You are not completely forgiven for your intrusion, but we thank you for the gifts you have given us."

"Maybe we could even see your species take part, there are a few Goliath guards who would like a chance to get even."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Watchers can't fight, I'm afraid, and they're not a proper species anyway. But I'll do you one better. I'll show up on the day and if they're still sore about it I'll go a few rounds with them personally. On my honer, no god powers involved. What do you say?"
