Re: Interesting superpower questions

Ability Imbuing.  Another power I'll need to look up.  I don't recall the details of that one much, but I think I like where you're headed with this. (We really need to up the quota on the main site, somehow)

Wulf  - I may be spacing here, but I seem to recall another Mythpower that allows you to summon/manipulate items that belong to you.  Did I dream this up or is this an actual power?  (Sorry, if I seem to be leaning on your expertise tonight... I've really been poring over your Mythpower series recently and things keep popping into my head)

Hm...perhaps try these on for size.

3rd

Hehehe, that user isn't the Timemaster for nothing, I suspect.

Wulf - in Mythpower: Koros' Cruelty, you state that the user could use wallets or safes as "hammerspace"  devices.  Would you be able to use those devices if you lost the ability?
If the power's been significantly developed, sure. For the sake of any allied with me, I assume that that's the case.

The most surefire way to keep from being completely floored by the nullification of your powers is to have skills separate from them.

THAT'S the one.  Yet another power that needs gettin'.

So, with Ctesios Title, Koros' Cruelty, External Duplication, Ability Imbuing, and Power Backup (used many times), combined with storing myriad copies of your power backups in several spread out mundane hidden places, that should take care of 99% of the scenarios of people muckin'with your stuff.   Unless there's a threat vector I've overlooked...

Feel like you're overlooking a potential flaw in an otherwise-foolproof plan?

Shadowulf1 has an app for that.

Re: Interesting superpower questions

NIIIIIICE, Wulf.  Forgot about that one.  I even managed to acquire that one in the recent past.

@Vault:  How true that is.  In fact, that raises yet another question.  Let's say that the super possessed Instant Learning and used it to acquire a prodigious amount of skills that would help to ameliorate his plight in a power loss scenario like we've been talking about  If Instant Learning got ganked by the ne'er-do-well, would the skills already acquired remain?

Re: Interesting superpower questions

Here's my 2nd go at the Marvel Ultimate team, IMHO

Omega Contingent (the Last Team) – when all else has failed, this team is the only option left

Nick Fury – Commander, Operations
Leader – Strategist, Planner, problem solver
Vanisher – Logistics, Transportation
Spider-Man – Field Agent, Danger-sensor
Iron Man – Field corporal, enemy tech counterforce , scrapper
Captain America – Field sergeant, Team Leader, tactician
Blue Marvel – Field Agent, Heavy hitter scrapper
Hercules – Field Agent, Heavy Hitter scrapper, Meat shield
Wonder Man – field Agent, scrapper, general tough guy
Namor – Field Agent, Sub-Aquatic team lead, maritime consultant, scrapper, reigning personal disorder to mix things up
Rachel Summers – Non-technical communications, psychic support vs. enemy mindbenders
Shen Kuei – stealth, espionage, sabotage, h2h master, generally cool-guy
Mister Fantastic – Materiels manager, artillery support, overall physics magician who can counter any science employed
M – Field Agent, overall bad arse, intuitive aptitude, creative/intelligent thinker capable of adapting to non-standard obstacles and scenarios
Commcast – communications, cyber-intelligence, counter-intelligence
Vision – infiltration, barrier scoffer, scrapper
Quicksilver – for any team worth its weight in fig newtons, there simply MUST be a speedster on board.

Thanks for posting that list WHD. I now have some powers to add to my wish list.

I think we all have our own range of expertise.

In fact...posing another question.

If YOU were a member of a Zombie Apocalypse Team (doesn't matter if you're on a team with members of SPL, with other friends, or with Superheroes/Supervillains), which role do you think YOU would fill?

You may answer as your normal human self (with friends/family/other mundane humans as your team)

You may answer as your SPL self (with other SPL members as your team)

Leader: Shaowulf1 (already rules Celadon, closest thing we have to a leader in NB).
Brawler: WHD (look at his number of powers).
Weapons Expert: Zaleramancer (due to extensive knowledge of swords; if we're answering as out SPL selves, we don't really need weapons).
Brains: Smackgiver (he carefully plans out every post-NB action).
Medic: Marvelous Miscreant (it's obvious, really).
Speed fighter: Philote (while he is more because he does not fit as well into the other groups, I can see him being an effective high-speed zombie fighter).
Mascot: Myself (I already have an animal form and I could keep my skills secret ).
Guy who dies first: Wish (he'd plan it so that he could reincarnate in a stronger form.
Bow before your unimaginably powerful overlord!

Yeah, I was gonna post me as the medic too. So I could solidify my theoretical medical degree as the NB Surgeon...
