And don't forget Doctor Doom.

You nailed it, Vault.  Anything in Venture brothers should be universally approved on precedent alone.  How did I miss this?

Another good point, Wulf.  I totally forgot that he was actually in contention with the good Dr. Strange for the title of Sorcerer Supreme.

Not to mention, maybe Doctor Voodoo.

Ooh, what about Doctor Manhattan?

Oh, and are we forgetting...Doctor Emmett Brown and *ahem* THE DOCTOR?

All these doctors working together, the whole of the universe would never get sick again! The cosmos would be cured...of injustice!

Heck yeah. The best known 'doctors', tend to be anything but your average medical nerds...

Apparently, that's actually a thing...at least, on Doctor Who.

Supposedly, The Doctor really hates apples, or something like that.

Well, each regeneration brings a new personality, appearance and biological features. For all we know, Capaldi's Doctor may think apples are the greatest fruit from any planet in the universe throughout history.

Re: Interesting superpower questions

I'm not sure if this post belongs here or in the Power Combinations thread, so please feel free to re-direct me if it needs to go elsewhere.  As one matures in "all things SPL" you eventually have a nice cache of powers you've acquired.  Having gained those powers, the next natural progression is to acquire powers that will help you keep them from thieves, negators, and/or trolls that might deprive you of their full functionality.   I'd like to know the group's thoughts on tactics/techniques you would employ to keep your Superhuman resources intact.

There are the obvious ones, such as Power Backup, Natural Talents, Power Backup Ability, and Cellular Regain, but I think a persistent ne'er-do-well might be able to compromise them with relative ease.  Myself (the Aussie veteran, not me personally) made an excellent point earlier on this thread about granting a group of people a similar power at the same time, so as not to raise suspicion that you, yourself were the source.  That, I think, is a good start down this path of implementing a layered defense to keep the vultures off your back.  What I'd like to gather from this group are maybe secondary, tertiary, and quaternary lines of defense that would fool or block those really pesky interferences to the benevolent superbeing who only wishes to better humanity with their powers.

What say you all on this? (Myself - I'm really keen on your input, since you got me thinking along these lines originally)

I'd double up on powers, then bind the second set to something important. That way in the event of power loss you have a sort of "horcrux" for your powers. The of course its a simple matter of hiding that object. if it where me, I'd hide it inside myself. That way it couldn't ever really be "found" and could be activated immediately after power loss to regain powers and create a new one. just in case I;d make several though and hide the others in different locations.

Another good suggestion.  Is there a power or powers already on this site that accomplishes that?

Well, you could always use Power Self-Negation.

In fact, it was created for just such a purpose as potential ne'er-do-wells wishing to tamper with the function of our powers.

Re: Interesting superpower questions

So if you can focus your powers into a horcrux or phylactery kind of device are there any powers one can acquire that can protect them, such as being able to retrieve said device if found stolen?

Re: Interesting superpower questions

Actually, just as I posted that last comment, I immediately thought of external duplication.  That would certainly help on the thievery threat; but if your powers were negated, then External Duplication wouldn't be available.

Wulf - in Mythpower: Koros' Cruelty, you state that the user could use wallets or safes as "hammerspace"  devices.  Would you be able to use those devices if you lost the ability?

One could use Power Backup* to store their powers and use Ability Imbuing* to make an object capable of storing the CD's.

Unfortunately, due to the site being down, I cannot provide a link to these powers.
