Well, I'm not exactly sure how to transition between here and Arizona for Ivan's group, let alone for you...

Got any ideas?

Oh, yeah, you're right.

And since nobody else in my group but Bug seems very ready to talk about anything, I'm gonna take advantage of the characters I have at my disposal: Ivan and Pierce.

And I'm quite ready to get back headlong into ESRP. I'll be taking some ideas from the old incarnation, so it won't be that hard to do some parts of it, but you guys are still a critical part, so the sooner we can get you guys engaged and into the plot, the better.

So what languages does everyone know / is everyone speaking?

Looking over my character and apparently I only speak Spanish but with some French.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Oh, no, sorry, she speaks English. Those are just the other languages she knows.

Sorry for not making that clear.

But, basically, from now on, if you see a profile and it includes languages other than English, assume that they can also speak English (unless their profile specifically says otherwise, or unless I make it apparent within the RP itself).

For the most part, the cast is composed of native English speakers (or at least those decent in English as a second or third language).

Alright, so I think I'm ready to start posting now but I do not really know what I'm supposed to be doing with this character.

Right now I'm apparently an assassin and I'm meeting in a bar where some people are about to ask me to go on this job to hunt for a stone some geomancer has, correct?

How do I know these people and what sort of motivation do I have for being here and taking the job?

I feel like I'm just going to be following a script this whole RP.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. No, that was me.

Your character was one of the people Wulf just had walk in before Wayne walked out. You're Ivan's friend, and for all I can tell you're just here to have a good time.

Yeah, I think you're overthinking it, Phi.

Wayne is the only assassin we've encountered, so far. Our current group (Tessa, Jack, Wayne, Pierce, Ivan, Nadia) are just normal people, getting ready to go on adventure. We have nothing planned or scripted except a few major things (ie becoming rebels against the Overlords, the Overlords' deaths, some of the places we'll go, etc).

How we get to the major events, though, is entirely up to the current cast of players.

On a different note, I did some research on total societal breakdown that I wanted to share. Modern society uses a ton of complex systems to allow people to live in population densities way, way beyond the local land's carrying capacity. When a country reaches a point where these systems are disrupted, such as by the total dissolution of the government necessary for fiefdoms to form in the first place, bad thing begin to happen.

The most obvious examples are food and energy. The Boston - Washington conurbation produces like 0-1% of the food and energy it needs. When transport networks break down and infrastructure is damaged those 60 million people suddenly have no food and limited access to water and electricity. Even if it was a normal disaster, that would be a disaster of epic proportions. 2 million displaced people is a refugee crisis, 60 million is a guaranteed breakdown of law and order. Take that and apply it to every urban center and you're looking at uncontrollable population movements and mass starvation.

Add to this the people that decide to go all New Beginning with their shiny new superpowers and you get a catastrophic death toll. I'm talking back plague levels of depopulation in every first world country.

I'm going to start working on my post now.

What is the list of characters that are currently active? The three from the original conversation and the ones now coming in with me I mean.

I don't get what you mean by 'active'.

I need to add Pierce's part, and Tessa and Fitz have yet to speak, if that's what you're asking. And basically, you're in there with all friends (except the barmaid) now. Wayne cleared out the place with his talk of assassins, and the barmaid only just came back in. As long as you're posting according to that current setup, you're good.

No worries; if folks start chiming in more, then it won't be long before we move out, to the actual adventure.

Did you read what I posted? I wrote it assuming I only knew the people I walked in with.

Yeah, I read it. Though, when I first read it, your post seemed to convey the idea that there are still people in the bar. After Wayne's subtle hint that he was an assassin, folks cleared out. Now that he's gone, the only folks left are Ivan, his friends and the barmaid. Feel free to narrate that people are starting to come back in, but your post seems to assume it already. Sorry. Otherwise, your post was good, though. I plan on adding tonight, to get the ball really rolling.

When I was talking about sitting away from the other people at the bar, I was talking about the other character's that entered with me (Bug, etc).

Then I had her address the people at the table, minus the one who left, who were talking about the assassin stuff.

GV's post said that Josef and Wayne already left.

So, the part about her paying for her own drink is fine, but she can't address Wayne or Josef; they're already gone. If you don't mind, that last bit should be edited.

And from there, we can get to grilling Ivan about his conversation with Wayne and Josef.

Wasn't there three people though? Who remains from the original conversation? Or is it only my group at the bar, and if so, what are we supposed to be doing?

It was just Ivan talking to Wayne and Josef. Now those two are gone and Ivan's friends have come in. It's just Ivan + friends (Nadia, Fitz, Tessa, Pierce, Jack) + barmaid.

And, like I said, if you like, you can narrate that people start coming back into the bar, but you don't have to if you don't want.
