I think that if we get to the point where people actually want to try this then I'll just call for everyone to roll an official character at the same time. Any other characters you make until then you can bring in once the introductory part of the RP is over.

Before then, if you get the chance, I highly suggest you read through Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Because this system you've come up with lends itself really well to abilities that are Stand-ish.

It's kind of hard, but it's pretty much that fights in Jojo are never decided with a punching contest, or by pushing your swords together until one guy gives out. Victory is determined by whether you can figure out what it is the other guy can do and finding a way to counter it, almost never from power or technique.

What with the opponents code being hidden from you, it seems like that's the kind of fighting we're going to be doing. A

Yeah I like that idea, its just hard to keep people from not using so much meta knowledge when their characters would not know the other's code. If one person figures it out, then everyone knows the code for that person.

Are you talking about within-RP or outside-RP?

Within-RP, if people know what the character can do from previous knowledge, it usually tends to affect how they RP, even if their character does not know.

Outside-RP, it is usually nice for people to have their profiles present. I'm not sure how I would feel about an RP where we kept all our stats hidden until they were revealed within the story.

Let me expand on what I was saying: even if I figured out the entire code of an NPC, Caranta/I might not tell the others and let them struggle around a bit more. That's both within the RP and without.

True, I'd say that each player should be allowed to choose whether or not their character is powered or non-powered, but NPC's can have it randomly chosen for them.

Anyways, the Powered-NonPowered thing can go, it was just an idea that I was throwing out. You would not have been stuck with what you rolled and you could even change your opponent's status during battle.
