Amalgam Character Creation RP

Well you can sort of provide your own definition as long as its reasonable. I want to try to let people design their characters how they would like.

Here is how I did one of the characters I rolled:
Minotaur: Saarth Tundrahorn. An arctic breed of Minotaur from the northern pole. Saarth is covered in white fur that grows grey in his long braided beard. His deep black horns and hoofs are the only features that stand out against the white snow of his homeland.
Island Resort: Saarth is a mechanic working at an island resort for his people near the equator of his planet. The island is artificially frozen by Cryo-generators so as to keep the climate suitable for the minotaurs from the north. Recently, the island has been taken over by a hostile military force as a strategic stepping stone for further invasions, leaving Saarth to fend for his life while trying to survive on the island.
Technology/Icicles: With the Island resort shut down, Saarth has commandeered the Cryo-generators and has engineered them into makeshift weapons.
Stat Increase: Cold-Resistance

You can roll a new one if you wish. I'd still like anyone's opinions on anything that would be a complication for making this run smoothly.

Insectiod: Recku is a purple female of a humanoid Hercules Beetle species. As a female of this species, it is her job to protect the collective young of her tribe as the swifter males gather food.
Wilderness: The Midnight Forest, a large stretch of land that Recku calls her home. The thick canopy of this forest would leave it in perpetual darkness if the many varieties of florescent plant life did not exit. The forest is home to many advanced predators which Recku has learned to defend against, earning her a place in Mr. Millennium's game.
Shade/Magic/Animal Connection: On her own, Recku is not capable of facing the predators of the Midnight Forest. To overcome this, Recku makes use of the rituals passed down through her society. Incantations and the consumption of a florescent flower from her home sends Recku into a trance-like state where she assumes a more spiritual form. Recku becomes a predator herself momentarily to combat the natural predators that stalk her daily. This new form takes the appearance of a shadowy apparition, a chimera of her own Hercules Beetle traits and that of another beast of her choosing.

Would any else like to make a character?

I'm considering adding a rule that people should roll for what gender their character is. If you roll 1, your character can be male or non-gendered, if you roll 2, your character can be female or non-gendered.

Another coin flip that I was considering adding was an option that would determine if your character was Powered or Non-Powered. All characters would be around the same level of power (LoC Hero level I'm thinking) but any character labeled as Powered would have an advantage against any Non-Powered character. Within the RP, there would be actions that could change the status of a character, so you would not necessarily be stuck as Non-Powered if you rolled it.

One of three scientist stationed on the lunar research station Aldrin 2, Silvia Monk found herself unprepared for the small size of the station and the cold isolation of space. Being confined to such a small space, she began experiencing a great deal of anxiety over her situation. This feeling of entrapment anxiety built and built with each passing month, until finally manifesting as a unique psychic ability.

Silvia's power manifests as a padlock, visible only to Silvia, the victim, and anyone who can see the thoughts of others, which appears on the victim. With the lock in place the victim will find it impossible to leave the confines of the room they are currently in by any means, even if the physical room is completely destroyed. Those that are locked while outside can not leave any place the forms a boundary. For example, if locked on a city block the victim would not be able to move to another, nor step off the sidewalk into the street or enter any door or alley on that block. Likewise, someone locked in the street itself would not be able to step onto the sidewalk or cross an intersection. Someone locked somewhere in the open, such as a field, would be stopped by a fence, a small stream, or even a circle drawn in the dirt.

Silvia can create a lock upon anything in her sight, but can only maintain three locks at any time.

Because of her anxieties Silvia can not be inside of a building for any great length of time without freaking out, although opening windows can help alleviate this somewhat. In addition, she absolutely refuses to sleep anywhere but outside.

@Vault: Nice character, I would only be worried that the ability is to absolute. In RP fairness, another character might be able to resist or break the lock if she was not there to enforce it for example.

@Everyone: As you may have noticed with my character Recku, she requires a specific flower from her native environment to activate her powers. Since she is being transported to a completely new world as part of the RP, this would normally be a problem as she would not have access to this resource. This is where the InnKeepers come in. At least one will provide means to obtain things related to your character's back story, though this may mean giving up something of equal value.

So Vault, you've created three characters so far, are any the type that you would actually like to RP with? Or are the characters not turning out how you'd like?

The list wasn't complete when I made the little toaster looking dude, so I don't count him. It seems more in the spirit of things to use the first result I get from the legitimate list.

I might do a few more, just because it's kind of a fun puzzle.

Anything you'd like to point out about the RP setup or the story itself? Unless I get feed back from people or continue to have people make characters, then there is not much input that I have to give until this RP starts and I do not want it to fade away from lack of attention.

It's not really big on story. The plot and setting seem more like an excuse to get a bunch of eclectic character together to interact. As such, it doesn't seem like the kind of thing that has to be expanded on.

I would like to know the ultimate direction you want this to go. It seems like you want us to do world building, but Millenniums plan seems more like he wants us to go all Battle Royal on one another until only one is left.

You're sort of right on the first part, but if I can get an awesome story along side the excuse that would be great

The way I imagined it was that these initial characters that you roll would enter into an alliance of sorts in order to keep safe during this Battle Royal that is going on. I was thinking of an alliance similar to the state of LoC, they are all technically working together on the world but the possibility for them to turn on each other at any moment still exists. Along with how you guys decide to play your character, I was going to introduce threats related to acts of Mr. Millennium or other gangs of characters that have formed in this world.

Each sector will be filled in as you guys explore. You can go beyond the borders of this map as it is just to show how the coordinate system works. The center starting area is slightly different than the others, composed of white panels and castle-like skyscrapers.

Goblin/Dungeon/Instinct: Yzet was born in the Dungeons of Castle Jorund, they have always been his home as they are home. Like all goblin born in the dank and the dark, Yzet instinctively avoids the harsh light of the sun. This has kept him in his dungeon and made him defensive of his home.

Nail/Life-Force: When Yzet was born he was immediately singled out as different. His very life-force changed him at his core, made him different, made him better. At a young age he discovered his strange gift, the ability to generate and propel sharp spine like nails from his skin.
