We were thrown to lions, you were burned; we each belong to a history of persecution. It doesn't make taunting right on either side.

How would you feel if I took that sort of stance against white people? If stereotype serves as any benchmark, then, by any standard, you already have a leg-up in life; an unfair advantage over me. It should make me bitter and mocking toward you and any other white person I encounter, right?

But we both know that's not the case.

Who I am will only ever be a blessing in my mind, and I don't resent who or what I am, nor do I envy or resent anyone else. I can take a bit of taunting, like I said before. But don't make it like you have it so much harder than me. You don't. You don't know my past, and I don't know yours, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't have life easy because of who I started life as, or because of choices I've made.

Sorry, Sorry.

I'm just a bit tired of you getting bent out of shape every. Single. Time it could even be construed that people are making light of your religion.

I am not aware of the meaning you're talking about
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

What does it look like now?

I told you I was gonna just sit back. You're the one getting all bent out of shape, and felt like you had to defend what you said.

I think I follow what you're saying now, from what I looked up it was used as a symbol of sexuality and fertility before.

I don't think that really has any connection to the christian use of the symbol other than them being similar symbols.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. Oh really now?

This coming from the guy who thinks me and Drow are conspiring when we're tittering over the fact that one of the symbols used by Christianity used to be a symbol of various Goddess.

Meant to be a specific part of the female anatomy.

Though, in all seriousness, what I said was very out of line. I am very sorry.

I'm not sure why my IQ chose to dip at that moment. I think it's those debate threads from other forums making me irrational again.

It was repurposed, yes.

I still think it's kind of funny though.

I never said you were conspiring. Never implied it.

Admittedly, I got serious a bit quick, but I wasn't suspicious or resentful or angry. Only slightly bothered, and even that sentiment passed quickly. You should know by now; that reaction from me was not a bothered one.

And admittedly, I didn't know about that symbol's upside-down meaning. Meh, you learn something new everyday.

Anywho, I think I'll pick another spectral monster to describe. Those and other supernatural creatures are my favorites of the ones you guys post.

The Black Dog?

A Church Grimm?

A Cait Sith?

It can only be the Barghest/Barguest/Black Dog or the Church Grim (like Zale said). Or a ghostly hellhound, like the Hound of the Baskervilles or the Hound of Mons (which are also Black Dog spirits).

Guess the name of this creature :

Along the Tsavo river, we do not stop for camp.

Any who have been to that wretched place will know of what I speak. It stalks you in the night, unseen save for two emerald specks in the darkness. Sometimes it makes sounds; the roar of a lion, the howl of a wolf, the high cry of a bird. That is how you know you've attracted the stalker. No animal comes to the banks of that river, not even insects. So the only sound is the babbling of the water, and the yowls of the stalker

It will not harm you, not if you stay awake, not if you keep moving. But try to rest, try to stop, and you are doomed. It will take the men who stop. Not eat, take. Spirit away. No sound, no movement, no blood, no evidence that your companion had ever been there, and it will do it in an instant. The moment you look away, the moment you blink, they will be gone.

I remember when I was young. I set out with 4 friends along the banks of the Tsavo, to trade in Yelta. We did not make good time, we were to loaded down with wares and it was nightfall before we knew it. But we were already halfway to Yelta. There was no turning back for us. It got Yani first. We heard him stumble, his pack clattering to the ground. We turned quickly, but he was already gone. Kana was next. Her legs just gave out, and she fell to her knees begging us to go on. We walked  backwards until she was out of sight, nurturing some vague hope that she would regain her strength before the darkness closed in around her.

It was just me and Yudei left, and we came up with a plan. She would jog ahead, and walk backward staring at me. That way, we always had each other in sight. The beast let it's frustration be know with whoops, and roars, and cackles but it could do nothing. We had a scare when Yudei tripped on the bank and fell face first into the river, but she quickly righted herself.

Finally, we made it Yelta. The gate guards were amazed that we had made it, and quickly ushered us in. We were happy to have survived and tired from the trek, and the innkeeper was courteous enough to give us room and bored for free in light of our ideal. But, I'll always remember the haunted look on Yudei's face as she wished me goodnight and closed her door.

She was gone the next morning. There was nothing to indicate she had ever been there, save for this picture hidden in her pillowcase. On the back was just a three line note: It's reflected in the river. I can see it now. Even now.

Along the Tsavo river, we do not stop for camp.

Who am I?

Though this place afforded I and my sisters a new name, I am the one called Turuk-Na'nam. Your kind have made a goddess of me for longer than they care to keep record of. I am Guardian of the Green, Tamer of Flora and Fauna. I am their youth, their prime and their elder days. I am their love, their confusion and their destruction.

I am Understanding and Mastery and Love of the Wild.

Yes, now you remember me. You, an ar-kee-ollow-jist as you call yourself, have seen the works and monuments dedicated to me. And what of my sisters, you ask? Jai'la'him and Raktu became too much to handle...they resented me for my power, and for what I planned on their beloved worshipers, these...Maya. Only Uburra-Namall understood that I, too, wanted worshipers. I wanted some other than my sisters to adore me for the great potential I possessed. And so...I did what I must.

They died at my hand, swiftly and surely, and their power became mine. Their arms became my arms, and so my hands extended would wield their power. All except my dear sister Uburra-Namall. She alone was allowed to escape into the depths of space and time, for her own safety.

But now that I think of it...you are right. LOVE is perhaps the STRONGEST power of all. Hm...what a sudden and welcome revelation. Now, excuse me, mortal. I believe I am due for a long awaited reunion with my dear sister...

In LoC? It was Gilgamesh's first world, and as far as I'm aware nobody else said it was their first world, they all seemed to have back stories.

The picture just caught my eye, and so I ran with it.

And when I was finished, I happened to really like what came of my creative process.

You like?
