.....actually better question, what if egypt had continued to advance scientifically?

I'm not trying to entirely but it's an interesting though, Egypt fell long before Rome and was already a highly advanced society with a large grasp of astronomy, chemistry, psychology...actually not sure about this one, and architecture. Eventually they might have even figured out that the brain was the control center of the body instead of useless junk.

We would still have slavery for one thing.

they would have eventually rebelled again.....and also everyone had slavery or participated in slavery at one point, eventually they fall, it's a doomed subject that is only overlooked in an economy powered mosty by servant labor.

But the egyptians would have been nothing wthout slaves. It was basically the backbone of their society. It would have lasted a hell of a lot longer under their rule.

As were most civilizations at that day and age.

The Egyptians used no slaves. That is a common myth.
To build the pyramids, the farmers (and some specialized workers) came to help them. Why did they use farmers? Well, the Nile flooded each year, fertilizing the flooded area. The Egyptians built their farms here so they did not need fertilizer, but this meant the farmers were out of a job once a year. So while the women and children were managing the farms, the men came to work on pyramids. The Egyptians never needed slaves. Servants (i.e. paid workers) maybe, but not slaves.

What? I was just correcting people.
Everyone was making it seem like America was the only good country in the world, like Australia and other countries didn't even exist. They were also making what I saw as inaccurate predictions, as they were thinking this society was immutable, when the roman society would have changed as much as ours did.

Servants are people who perform household chores for pay. It's a job, working for rich families. They can quit at any time. Their descendants can choose any job they please, though in those times they usually followed their parent's occupation anyway.
Slaves are people who are forced to do labor of some sort. They could be used as unpaid servants, farm the land, mine, etc. They are treated like animals. They are forced into the state and cannot quit. Their descendants are also slaves. There is a big difference

I stand by my assumption that the roman empire by now would be more advanced and somewhat different than our own.
Here are a list of my prediction of what would happen. 1. We would be a democracy and we would have a technological hive mind which would allong with merging with extremly advanced ais increase our technological advanced by over a trillion years per minute or more. 2. We would be 1,000 years or more advanced than we are now. If they actualy achieved the singularity due to the higher advancement rate we would most likely be trillions or more years advanced than we our right now. 3. Slavery would be gone because by then robots would replace slavery due to them being more effective, requiring little maintnence, no pay ect. 4. The main language of the world would be latin. 5. We would have reached the singularity 100s of years before now so if you read Ray Kurzweil's book the singularity is near when humans transend biology you know what will happen. 6. We would transend our human limitations through science and technology becomeing transhumans. 7. Their society will be impossible to predicate because they would have advanced so far ahead of us that we have no way to even comprenhend how things would be. 8. We would be a type 4 civilization or beyond. 9. We would have be exploring the multiverse by now. My reason for predicating we be exploring the universe by now is because we are thousands of years behind what they would reached and we don't have a unified planet and it is still protected we will be able to explore the universe or at least the galaxy in a few decades. So due to them being thousands of years ahead of us and have a unified planet by now they would have been past the space age and have the technology to travel to or possible create universes and multiverses. 10. We wouldn't be limited to earth anymore due them reaching type 4 civilization or beyond. 11. They would probally have reached type 7 civilzation or be close to it and be able to control, create, and travel to entire multiverses and beyond. 12. We would have or started to conquar entire multiverses. 13. All our needs will be gone or provided for due to achieving the singularity and becoming transhumans. 14. We would not have a superpower list because due to high technology we would allready have made exeeded the superpowers displayed in comicbooks and superpowrs would be obsolete. 15. We be looking at a race that is so beyond our comprehention because due to the singularity they would be advancing by trillions of years and most likely more every minute. 16. It would be an amazing future because I am asuming every thing worked out. If you wan't to have a more indefence look at and a better describtion of how things would be read the singularity is near when humans transend biology. I realy recomend the book because that is what the romans would have reaches 100s or even centuries by now. They're civilzation would be completeing uncomprehendable to us because it would be so more advanced than us but the book will help you out understand them somewhat. The book actualy doesn't talk about what would happen if the roman empire never fell but since the romans would have reached the singularity that does not matter. |

Me, too.
Though a bit of that other stuff might be plausible.

1. Is possible.
2. I would say that could be correct. 3. Yep 4. Also, Yes. 5. Possible. Give the exponential growth of human technological efforts.. Likely. 6. Probably, if they're more advanced than us. 7. And also. 8. Is that on the Kardashev Scale? Because that would mean the harnessing of all the energy available in the entire universe. 9. Multiverse is iffy. We don't even know if our universe is finite yet, much less other ones. 10. So it's not the Kardashev Scale. 11. Type SEVEN? That Scale mentioned above only goes to THREE. 12. Once again, is our universe even finite? 13. Probably... 14. Also so. 15. You're getting repetitive now. 16. That is slightly to optimistic. Even for me.
