If he is using emulators to play old games that are not being sold anymore then I don't really think its a problem.

 I don't think Marv cares. I already said before, I only use emulators for stuff like Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance and N64, neither of which are still in commercial circles for sale (only rare retail), but he still seems to think it makes you a pirate, or pirate-adjacent.

The movie sites, and the PDF sites for books still currently on sale, I get. But old PDFs that aren't in circulation, and old emulators that haven't been used by the general public in years? I don't think those should be a bother.

I once played, back in early high school, Pokemon Sapphire because someone took pity on me and let me borrow their game-playing-device..

Before then, the closest I came to a Pokemon game was Pokemon Stadium 2.

It was great and I loved it, but eventually I had to return it.

Then, now, someone mentions Emulators and I discover I can play that again.

So, yes, I went crazy.

I did seriously consider just going with my first instinct and simply not mentioning it was a Rom. BUT I decided to be honest.

Woopie.

I could just lie and pretend I'm not going to play it, but, I am going to anyway.

If it makes you feel better Marv, in a few months I'll probably spend my financial aid money trying to buy the actual game cartridges, despite having no way to use them, out of guilt.

But right now, I really want to go to the Pokemon thread and Spaz out about what I'm doing on the game.

If you'd prefer me to pretend like I'm not playing this, I do understand though. I'll lie for friends.

Dude, go ahead and play it if you want. I can't actually make you do anything. Like I said, I can only make my opinions known and I realize that my opinions aren't shared by everyone. If it makes you feel guilty then I'll shut my yap, since that was not my intention.

Well, if it makes any difference, I'm not bothered by any of this. Not uncomfortable in the least. Different political views, different religious perspectives, different moral strictness and moral allowances, I'm cool with it all. So long as nobody tries to persecute me for a differing perspective (which Marv hasn't), then I'm good.

 No hard feelings to anyone here. I just like media too much to pass them up when the opportunity arises to get them for free. Except bootleg DVDs. Making and buying those is enforced much more strictly than I care to dabble with.
