You got a GM who didn't know how to control his players and players who didn't want to get invested in anything. Probably a "Sandbox" game, am I right? Sandbox can be really fun, or it can be what just happened. Also, the system you were playing with was shoddy and inaccurate to the actual game.
Oh, that reminds me. In this other game, if it's 3.5, don't roll up a fighter. Quick tip.

The DM (Not this one) thinks ToB is OP.
I'm going to be a paranoid wizard. I understand 3.5 very well. To Crappy DM's credit, he does have far to many people on his plate.

No, he just thinks Warblades and Swordsages are to powerful.
He likes Crusaders. Says they are the biggest Bros you'll ever find. He also thinks that you get all the intelligence bonus-spells at the first level. So you can theoretically cast level nines at first level. He's capping that, but I don't want to try to correct him. I don't know him well enough to see how he'll take it.

I don't even know If I want to play DnD anymore.
I was so excited about it before, but now.. ..now.. .. If every-time we go to town it turns into a three hour long mess of people stealing and fighting and fucking with no consequences, then, well.. I'll get tired. I'm trying to make my character not a psycho. I don't think anyone else is even trying to make their character something, other than one guy..

Don't get soured on the hobbie just because you ended up in That Group.
Here, read this. It's long as hell, and at first it LOOKS like the same kind of thing you were complaining about, but it all comes together into a cohesive and satisfying whole crafted by all the players together. It is a tale of one groups insatiable greed and how it affected everyone around them. http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/21445029/ That is what the hobby is when it works, that is a sandbox game when it works, that is a high level campaign when it works.

Alright, other DM is starting.
He seems to have a few glaring rule misconceptions, including that you receive all bonus spell slots you get due to high casting stat from the first level.. He also seems to have no idea about WBL.. We're starting at level 10 and receiving exactly.. 500g. Which is supposedly a decent sum for someone of that level. :/

Maybe you should try to find a happy medium. Between goofballs/weirdos and control freaks. Your DM should be something like a vampire in nature, in fact.
Mysterious and intriguing to listen to. Capable of leading you on, without you even caring where the lot of you head off to. Capable of leading you off to the most dark and secluded area, away from loved ones and allies without you even suspecting anything. Until he's got you cornered. And you have no clue, that he's coming in. For the kill... I mean, even if the campaign isn't horror, he should be the equivalent of a vampire crossed with an incubus. Capable of predatory slickness, unrelenting, and yet always leaving you wanting more.

Well, my stories always used to keep my old neighborhood friends entertained...
And it's not like you try to kill them for real. Just, along with your sense of empathy, be sure to have something of a sense of schadenfreude.

My D&D group is getting pretty interesting. I'm playing a swordmage that I've used as inspiration for some of my NB abilities during Zale's arc.
The world we are in is infested with demons. Soul mages in the past screwed up at some point and summoned them all. People fled the demons and went underground, forming cities covered in a magical dome that prevented the demons from sensing the city. So, in the city where the campaign started, the main races were Humans, Elves, and Dwarves but there were also lesser races that were subjugated. My character is a knight who has trained under the expertise of the elves for most of his life due to how close the races have to live together within the bubble. As a knight, he became the bodyguard of this man named Lord Basco who was on the parliament of the city. Basco gave me a Spellshard which became bound in my blood which gave me the magical powers to be a swordmage. This is the point when the campaign starts. The lesser races are rioting during a goblin execution and Lord Basco has me step in to calm things down. I meet my two companions here, a Shaman and a Sorcerer. Lord Basco hires them on for a job due to their help during the riot. The three of us get sent off to investigate the towers keeping the bubble going due to suspicion of the lesser races tampering with them. This led the group through a couple quests and discoveries. We found a soul mage and found his connection to the leader of the parliament. The conspiracy was to use soul magic to wipe out and replace the lesser races with empowered and warped abominations (Which would destroy the dome in order to power the transformation) and use the abominations to fight back the demons. Despite not being the lesser races ourselves, our group decided that there was a better way to fight the demons and we fought back against the parliament. We eventually had to exile ourselves from the dome because we were not prepared to take on the whole forces of the parliament just yet. Heading out into the underground caves around the domed city, we traveled towards the dwarven ruins which shared the cave our city was in. We eventually made a base within the ruins for the characters we had brought with us when we exiled ourselves. We began searching through the ruins, our main goal was to both empower ourselves and to build up our army to go back and retake the city before they could go through with their plan to take on the demons. We uncovered that soul magic originated within dwarven experiments carried out within these ruins before the dwarves were wiped out. We learned this from the captured soul of one of the soul mages who was involved with the events leading to the demon problem. Though one of the members that we brought with us confirmed that this soul mage was not one of the evil ones who had caused the demons on purpose. This soul mage offered to possess and empower my longsword if I completed the quest of finding the keys to release him. This quest led us through the other sections of the ruins. One of the main areas was the dwarven temple where we were looking for the head priest's key. In there, assassins sent by the parliament found us, but we also received some of our most important buffs. Since the temple had been abandoned, the activity near all the shrines drew the attention of different aspects and each member of our party was drawn into carrying out their will. My character drew the attention of Bahamut, due to having the hide of a slain dragon within my inventory and due to Protection (One of his domains) being my main attributes. He gave me his artifact (A ruby dragon figurine) and gave my character an urge to slay dragons that were not of Bahamut's design (Non metallic or gemstone dragons). After this, we traveled and found a golem construction bay within the military complex of the ruins. This construction bay could take souls and craft them into golems that would do our bidding. We have souls in easy supply due to the assassins we are killing and the stored goblin souls that were left by the dwarves. These golems, along with the band of NPCs we have been forming, and the native orcs and goblins of the caves (Who we plan to recruit since they will want revenge on the parliament who has been trying to wipe them out) will form the army that we will use to take back the dome. In our group we currently have: The mage/scientist who was in charge of upgrading and maintaining the dome The Dwarf leader from the parliament and his son (He was not involved with the parliament leader. Lord Basco's fate is currently unknown). A Ranger who was the lone adventure tasked with mapping the dwarven ruins. A goblin and his golem who are currently turning into our shop due to their mechanical skills. A sentient golem who is in charge of crafting the golems for our army.

I actually think I may be okay with the first group.
I like comedy and fast-loose rules.

Currently my character has a couple goals in order to empower himself.
I'm in the middle of crafting my artifact weapons. I plan on using the Soul mage's soul to dye my blade a glowing white as he possesses it. I'll have access to his knowledge and soul powers then. I also plan on reforging Bahamut's boon into a new handle for this blade, in the shape of a dragon biting a blade coming out of its mouth. Instead of ruby, I'm going to dye the material indigo by infusing it with the power of my wards which comes from the spellshard infused with me. Once I have the Soul mage's powers, I'll have the ability to transfer my soul into a warforged's body over at the golem construction bay without loosing my will during the procedure. My spellshard will be transferred over as part of the warforged's power source, so I won't lose my swordmage abilities. Using a doppleganger mask, I'll appear as my old human self as long as the rest of my body is covered by my armor. So I'm: A Human With Elvish Sword Training With Swordmage powers from a Spellshard With A Soul Mage Blade With Bahamut's Boon With the body of a Warforged.

I'm only level 5 now.
@Zale: Maybe we could do a D&D battle arena later with this character
