The Kethencian College of Magic RP (Part 3)

Zauber had had much the same line of thought and had begun researching the subject after he had become competent with his Shield Wall spell, but for now he would let Zane lead and see what the wiser student could teach him. "That sounds perfect for me to learn" Zauber replies "Where do we begin?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"He was one of many who have died recently in Kethencia. All the proper procedures were taken before bringing them here. Not that it helped them much." the professor answered without looking up from his desk.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Zane moves over to a small table with several small jars containing different elements.

"We start by getting your shields adjusted to each element. Come here and make a shield."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"He looks young, though. What did he die of, if you don't mind?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Professor Sid sighs deeply before moving to the body. He lifts up the man's shirt to revel a large hole though his stomach. It was no ordinary wound though. It was perfectly round and cut neatly though the man's torso.

"It's been happening more and more lately. We don't know why."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Billy looked down through it, sincerely wishing that he had seen this beforehand so he could have asked about it. He didn't want to disturb the man again if at all possible, so he asked the professor, "Did anyone else here die of a wound like this?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Professor Sid gestured to the remaining bodies and replied gloomily, "See for yourself."

All but the Fairies and the plant-like creature showed the same wound.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

The Elf was closest.

"Please, please wake up. The living have dire need of you. Please, I need to speak with you."

The bubbles did their danced again.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

The effect was almost immediate this time. The elf gasped for air and tried to sit up, but quickly collapsed as she lacked the proper abdominal muscles to do so. The elf's eyes were wide with fright as she continued to gasp for air.

"Escape....." she managed to whisper before she slowly started to calm down.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Please, don't be alarmed." he says, taking her hand gently. "I'm sorry, but this is urgent. I'm Billy, I'm a necromancer and I'm here to..."he think quietly about the absurdity of what he's about to say, "I'm here to help."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Help? No, there is no way.....out of nowhere. Killed me.....so fast....."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"I'm sorry, lets start with your name. Then, we can move on to...to what happened. Is that alright, ma'am?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

The elf, only a few years older than Billy, looked desperately into Billy's eyes for something she could relate to. She stopped panicking long enough to sputter out a few words.

"Sarah.....my name is Sarah."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Miss Sarah. It's a nice name." Gah, what a dumb thing to say, she isn't going to care how nice it looks on her tombstone you moron. Billy though for a moment that the spider was back in his head, before realizing that it was just him. He shook it off. "Miss Sarah, I need to no what did this to you. I need to no so I can stop it from doing it to anyone else. I need your help."

Billy's eyes are pleading with her.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"It happened so fast. It came out of nowhere. This....this thing. It was dark and twisted and....it stabbed me. It stabbed me with it's hand and it felt like it was tearing out my magic. I don't know what it was. All I remember was it's eyes.....they were bloodshot and very large....."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Billy's own eyes go as wide as saucers.

"Red?" he manages to choke out.

[Philote]

A glowing light covers Zauber as his shield covers him. He examines the jars in front of him and draws the fire and earth ones closer to him "I think it would be beneficial if I practiced with these first for....personal reasons."

Two motes formed and floated around Zauber, one red and one brown. When he noticed Zane's curious looks, Zauber explained "I'll need these if I'm going to practice with these elements, its how my magic works."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Almost entirely....." Sarah confirmed as she continued to stare at Billy with a distant look.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Alright, we're gonna slowly introduce the elements into your shield with these jars. Get ready, I'm going to release the fire first."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Thank you, Miss Sarah, you've helped immensely." he say, his voice as distant as her look. But he seems to pull himself back together in a moment.

"If there is anything you would like done, some last message or request, or some specific way you wish to be lain to rest, I am you humble servant."
