You don't have much experience with wood and fire do you, depending on thickness it should stay relatively stable for at least ten to twenty minutes, more than enough time to wail on somone.

I have plenty of expiernce burning sticks which is what you have pretty much and they burn quickly. You've got a couple minutes max before it's a Useless stub

A wooden sword is basically a carved stick. Same principle. It's okay, you can admit you're wrong. I won't hold it against you.

The rate at which wood burns is directly proportional to the thikness of said wood, even a two by four will take about an hour to burn all the way through it if you don't have a constant extra heat source ot keep the flame going, and honestly I'd probably end up putting the fire out the first ime I hit the freaking git.

I couldn't find time limit on burning wood, but I found that oak is the slowest burning wood, so Jester should have enough time for the fire to not be a problem as long as he doesn't leave it lit on fire forever.
