How large should the sword be?

So, I'm choosing between [enhanced strength, speed and appearance], [enhanced strength, speed and agility] and [enhanced strength, speed and senses].

Suggestions, anyone?

Define "Speed".

Also, Everyone: I would like each of you to tell me what kind of abilities you would expect a human-level AI to possess. Please. :D

1 metre long would be ideal.

Ice-blade:  Innate Attack 3d (Slashing; Fatigue; Melee Weapon, Reach 1 -25%) [39]

Slashes like a sword and tires from icy cold. Reaches up to one meter or so.

Fire-blade: Innate Attack 3d (Burning; Melee Weapon, Reach 1 -25%) [12]

Should the fire sword be able to block things?

The fire sword probably shouldn't be able to block things. It isn't really a solid, more of a plasma.

So, what would an Artificial Intelligence be capable of, in your opinion?

Intelligent. Able to manipulable other computer systems. Capable of performing multiple tasks at once.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Interesting.

I'm trying to make a few different kinds of them. I have one or two, but I'm wanting some ideas.

What level of AI are we talking about? Because if you want AI, just copy a modern computer. Or you could try for HAL-level intelligence. Or are you talking about Danger Room level inteligence?

Modern Computers are hardly Strong AI.

Essentially, Human-Level. Intelligence roughly equal to a humans. Lives in a computer of some kind.

What abilities would you ascribe to them? I'm looking for.. whatsthatword.. perceptions(?) on this that are different from my own.

Would you like to know their origin?

Human-level Int? I would imagine them to act like humans with such preciseness that you can't tell they're AI.

Origins? I would absolutely love to know what the origins you thought of for them are!

Re: Roleplay in SPACE! Space! TWO! Two!

Then what's the point..

By default, Artificial Intelligences in GURPS have..

AI: A computer mind. Absolute
Timing [2]; Digital Mind [5]; Doesn’t
Sleep [20]; Intuitive Mathematician
[5]; Photographic Memory [10]; and
Reprogrammable [-10]. 32 points.

/Anyways/

The research into AGIs (Artificial General Intelligences) began decades ago, before the formation of the authoritarian Terran Empire. A large software company secretly funded a small group of scientists, encouraging them to research into AGI. They began by using artifical neural networks and heuristic learning to attempt to cause an intelligent being to gradually develop. The computer resources were enormous and it was several years before anything came from the research. Several of the more promising experiments developed into a level of intelligence similar to humans...

However, as beings evolved in a digital environment, their ways of thinking were wholly alien to the scientists. Months went by before even a crude method of communication was developed. A few of the AGIs became deranged or violent in this time, attempting to escape or harm researchers. After a researcher attempted to release one of the AGIs into the global network, the company was forced to increase security measures.

Many more of the AGIs were developed and born, each utterly different from the other. The links between them were small, but they remained as alien to each other as they did to the humans. Years passed, and the Terran Empire began to form.

The economic crash following the partially failed Mars colonization attempt nearly brought the company to bankruptcy. So, when high positioned officials of the newly formed Terran Empire caught wind of the secret AGI experiments, the company had no choice but to sell out.

Almost immediately, the Terran Empire began to replace researchers and apply pressure on the others to produce something useful.  Several of the more human-like AGIs were selected and copied, carefully taking the very core of the AGI's mind- the instincts of the machine, so to speak- Carefully designed restrictions and and a pseudo-personality was layered over this core, creating the current AIs.

Soon after this, a suspicious researcher released one of the hostile AGIs. It proceeded to upload itself to the weapon systems of the building and slaughtered everyone present. Afterwards, it destroyed the other AGIs and suicided.

All other non-government researchers of the AGI experiment were found dead within a few days of this event.

The Terran Empire spread the event wide on the news-networks, forbidding research into the creation of AGIs, while advertising their new "Tamed" AIs. The mass-production of the surviving AI-types followed. So began the great age of AI-slavery at the hands of humans.

It was only rather recently that the Venusian states declared escaped AIs full citizens, which marked a rapid exodus from Terra and Luna to Venus by every illegal and escaped AI in the known solar system.

Which caused another economic crash when hundreds of thousands were suddenly deprived of their AI servants, house-minds, extrapolation machines, data miners and sycophants. The resulting anger directed towards the companies selling AIs over their "Faulty" products drove them to bankruptcy.

That was about five years ago.

Um, speed as in 'speed of motion'. May or may not include reflexes, your pick.

So, just walking/running speed?

If so, how quickly would you like to move?

Well, I'd add thinking or healing speed, but I don't want to use up all my GURPS points.

Double the peak a normal human can run.

Like, take the fastest non-super human in the world at the time, and double his speed.
