The shapes and the locations look to much like the real world without the americas.
It's more like a map with stereotypes than it's a fantasy.

Seriously though, I think that's merely a coincidence and has no relation to real world areas.

No, I think there's some validity in that. Lot's of the things you see in Not-Europe, Not-Asia, and Not-Africa line up with stuff you expect to see in fantasy about those places and the shapes are similar.
I do not, however, see anything wrong with that when you can travel up to the Witchlands to try and steal the stirring spoon of Baba Yaga and escape while being hounded by evil spirits and deep crows.

Yeah, It's a nice setup.
Sounds interesting to visit that Badass Monestary in the Jade Empire, then cross over to the Ninja country.

Oh, most indubitably. I like this.

I would gladly take a trip anywhere on that map. With the right weapons and powers at your disposal, you couldn't really lose, as far as adventure is concerned.

I'd like to see that Crawling City, because it's either full of Crawling Chaos's or it's on the back of a giant worm or something. The one I'm most curious about is Tiger-Headed Opium Nightmare because I don't have a clue what it could be.

Fantasy India during the Victorian era?

That actually seems highly likely.
Maybe full of rakshasas and nagas and hallucinogenic poppy fields and shady hookah bars...

Maybe because of seepage from the Madness Mountains. Evil Shagri-La is up there.

You guys sure liked that map more than I expected
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |
Mostly because it reminds me of 13'th Age. Everything is clear, but written in broad strokes that you can influence the world just by putting a character in it.
Try it, make up a character from this world and you will only create a more solid picture of it.

Nope, turns out it was just a cloth painted to look like an island.
They've moved it again.

1902, the honeymoon period of the new millennia, just four years after a devastating attack upon the British Empire by beings from another world. In the aftermath, any of the weakened superpowers colonies rose up in rebellion and the other nations of Europe pushed ever farther into Britain's sphere of influence. It seemed that England twilight was at hand.
That was until the soldiers arrived. England new weapon, ironically given to them by their would-be conquerors. Giant metal men striding across the landscape, seemingly immune to bullets attack, able to overtake artillery before it fired, and scorching the earth and everything on it to ash. England new super weapon: the Mars Engine. Created from the remnants of the Martian Walkers, these new weapons were deployed to retake and suppress all of the rebelling colonies. The rebellion put down, it then turned it's sight to those that had pressured it. It seemed as though the war would be over in a matter of weeks, until a miracle happened. Dr. James Cavor defected to the new European alliance, taking his knowledge of the how to create the Mars Engine with him. Thus began World War One. And all this time, while we are having this petty squabble, this world is being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's. Across the gulf of space, minds that are to our minds as ours are to those of the beasts that perish, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic, regard this earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely draw their plans against us once again. ---------- Giant robot WWI, fought in the aftermath of The War of the Worlds. Using reverse engineered tripods and coating strategic parts in Cavorite to get rid of that pesky square cube law, the British Empire deploys giant humanoid robots known as Mars Engines to reassert itself as a world power after being weakened by alien invasion. Dr. James Cavor, the inventor of carvorite, the Mars Engine, and the protagonist of The First Men on the Moon, sees that England intends to conquer the whole world and defects to Germany, giving them the fallibility to built the war machines. England owns basically all of Europe up to Germany's doorstep, but the two countries are now locked in a stalemate. All the while, strange lights have been reported in the sky and are making everyone really nervous.

I was actually thinking, once finals are over a traffic picks up again, I'd try running another quest thread on here like I tried with Domain Game. You know, everyone plays as a single character? And I'd like to do it with one of the ideas I posted a while back. Probably the video game one, because I could do a whole system for that.
Would anyone be open to that?
