I think from the oldest myths, they had bronze wings and claws, tusks and draconic scales..

Possibly Serpent hair, though that may have only been Medusa.

Blood drawn from the right side of a Gorgon's body had miraculous healing powers, while blood drawn from the other side was deathly poison.

And of course, anyone who looked at them turned to stone.

They lived near the ocean, so a diet of sea food would be expected.
