exactly, which is why all negation powers should have a trait that completley disables all of the users abilities while they are using the negation.

Well, if that's the case, the weaker guy can still get some protective power that keeps his abilities from being negated, while keeping his own negation powers in tact (like Fitz Tanner from the RP, he can negate powers but can't have his powers negated); and if the powerful folks do the same, like I said, work with others...

Re: Power Orphanage

jester_of_god
how is this the same thing as barrier defiance?

Name: Mind Break Overview: The ability to break past mental barriers Description: With this ablity, given enough time, you can break through almost any telepathic barrier that someone sets up to protect their mind. After you break through, your opponent is subject to mind control and illusion abilities just like everyone else.

Re: Power Orphanage

I at least now know how to take out your dog if I ever need to, with your definition of barrier defiance that means that I can go past any natural defence with my powers, actualaly something like this would also  work on reality anchoring.

Uh, you can go past NEARLY any defense...

1) Not a physically tangible defense

2) Cannot bypass mental defenses if you don't have mental powers already

3) Cannot bypass spiritual defenses if you don't have spiritual powers already

4) Cannot bypass any defense at all if your power is negated beforehand

Re: Power Orphanage

Myself

I'm thinking of making a power similar to Vicarious Superman. Here goes:
Name: Vicarious Superpowers
Description: You can imbue an object with a portion of your soul, but this increases vulnerability. However, in return, you gain a power for that object. The closer you are to the object, the stronger the power is. You can gain any power you want and any number you want, but if one of the objects is destroyed, you are too. Unfortunately, you cannot gain an omni power.
Pros:
-Any superpower you want.
-Any number of powers you want.
-The closer you are to the object, the stronger it's respective power is.
Cons:
-If any one of the objects in destroyed, you are too.
-Cannot gain the omni's.
-The stronger the defenses are, the weaker the power it grants (i.e. lethal curses may restrict it to telekinesis).
Bow before your unimaginably powerful overlord!

Wait a minute, I'm currently too busy holding a cork in mid air for petty groveling.

Re: Power Orphanage

I'm currently thinking of a power called Distance Manipulation letting you control the distances at will.

However I'm having a hard time trying to word it right to fit the space.

It works like this the distance changes without change to people's sense of space ie things look closer or farther than they appear.

Also gravity works on the same distance so bullets etc will fall to the ground before it ever reaches you---if you made the distance long enough--the bullets will appear to be float in the air without moving anywhere and slowly going to fall down due to gravity.----if someone tried to reach you they will still feel like they are moving but when they stop they seem to be in the same place at the start or at least only a few inches closer---even though they feel like they ran 400 meters.

Can also be used to teleport by making things closer to you so 1 step goes a long way--however can still bump into walls etc if they are in the way--manipulates distances between areas not actual teleportation.

The problem is trying to explain the perception part--I can't fit the bullet stop effect description.

kind of like a reverse wormhole/through the looking glass/dream corridoor effect right. I've been contemplating something similair to that for a while but it was mainly only going to have exceleration type.

...how about this. If an item enters the affected area it will seem to accelerate/deccellerate due to the affected space length, although it is actually continuing to move at the same speed. An example of this would be a bullet being shot into a space that is several thousand miles long. as soon as the bullet enters sad space it will seem to stop because it is trapped inside of the warped area....too long

 okay then how this.

As soon as anything enters the warped space, it will appear to accelerate or decelerate due to the elongated distance, If the space is long enough it will appear as though the object has stopped because it is travelling an impossibly small distance in such a small area.
