Re: Power Orphanage

Wish
So I just browsed around and came onto a very cool and funny power

the ability to turn any spell used by or against you into a spell for summoning a basin no matter how strong or weak the original spell was

Don't know whether i should add it or not since it seems biased towards magic users and if i made it work for all powers it seems a little overpowered making all powers useless---

Thoughts anyone?

That's not really cool or funny. Moreso lame. Like incredibly lame; what's worse, it's a bad combo of Magic Immunity, Magic Negation, Magic Consumption and Summoning. And who the freak wants a BASIN anyways? Even if it was big like the geological feature called a basin, what would it be good for?

King of Clothes Washers?

Ultimate Trash Can?

Ashtray of Doom?

Place to put used peanut shells?

My verdict: REJECTED...

I know...why the heck would you need a basin that just gets bigger and bigger by absorbing magic? It's great to get rid of magic, but what about the basin? What is IT for, other than just sucking up magic and taking up space?

Hmm....well the author of that book intended it to be a comedic power that is also useful.

and the power is universal----letting them dispel magic from afar turning the spell into raining wash basins----the spell can turn into multiple basins that rain from the sky randomly--though she is improving.....

It is implied she can change what type of basin that comes out--maybe a gold basin or a tin or plastic one, or an ocean basin etc

All basins disappear after one day---so it won't take up space.

So a little more powerful than when i first read about it in tvtropes--see Heart is an Awesome Power

Wait a second I thought that you said she had all of the powers that you have? I looked you up and you had perfect immortality.

All my powers as Penultimate, not as Shadowulf...

Re: Power Orphanage

Wish
Wanted to make a power that lets you flash step like in bleach----but i don't know if that is different enough from super speed or teleportation

It's sort of like superspeed because but it also lets you get from one place to another really fast but you can do it in the air too so........and teleportation is more having to do with space than actually moving.....

any thoughts?

sounds viable to me...a bit Spatial-Manipulation-y, but...

Re: Power Orphanage

I'm contemplating creating a power that would render all immutability/negation powers useless leaving your enemy to actualy come up with a way to counter your attacks.

Don't need to make negation powers for everything...it's gonna get VERY tedious...

I think the ideal situation is a power that prevents you from permanent power loss even if all your powers have been negated. For example, let's say someone with a vastly larger number of powers comes up to you, negates them all, and injects you with normalization fluid. When they stop negating, if you have this certain power, you get your powers back even though they should have been lost. This way you also don't have to worry about them shooting you in the face, because if you have a "regenerate when killed power", you'll be able to regenerate once they've decided you've been dead for long enough and stop negating your abilities.
This allows people with very few powers to still be relatively safe, while still allowing negation to function as a check that prevents people from becoming undefeatable.
