doesn't make it any less wrong. You know you were out of line, and deserve to have this power rejected. If you have to get an expert of ANY kind to find a solution to a problem you pose, the problem is a BIG one. I don't see how you didn't think that out before you posted it here.... my guess is YOU DID, and just wanted to annoy us all.

I was improving it in order to use it in an rpg I never expected to actualy create an power like that on the superpower list.
I also didn't know what troling even was I thought I was simply takeing advantage of an opertunity so if I caused any problems I honestly didn't mean it and I am very sorry. |

Gentlemen, if I may.
I suspect that if this is his first time in this kind of quagmire, Alex has had less experience than the rest of us. Maybe that means he's younger, maybe it doesn't. Who knows. Think back to your time of inexperience--if you were anything like me, you thought that (perhaps subconsciously) that the other people in the group or clade had shown up at the exact time as you, knew no more than you, and that you were equal to them in all fields. This mistake was fatal for me, just as it was fatal for Alex. He ran right into a mire, and instead of backing out when he could, tried to stand his quickly-sinking ground. Which brings me to a second point. I don't know if any of the rest of you remembered or realized this, but Alex mentioned once that he suffered from autism. Obviously, this is high-functioning autism, but nevertheless it obscures and muddies social cues for him. If he is anything like other people with Asperger's I know, he cannot tell when he is losing or down from a social standpoint and winds up annoying those who don't remember where he's coming from. I recognize that convincing someone that they are wrong when they honestly believe they are right--or at least act like they honestly believe they are right--is a tremendous pain. But if I were you, I would drop this and forget all about it. Why bother? This is the INTERNET. None of you are in daily contact with any of you if you don't want to be. When I look at argument threads and bilous comments, I honestly wonder why these people let themselves become emotionally invested in the ramblings of strangers. So in summary, this thread is dead. The idea behind this thread is dead. Onwards. |

That's part of the reason I forgave him so easily.
That and as much as he annoys the rest of you, I have relatives who are much. much. worse. The arguing actually entertained me. Getting me into a angry posting frenzy takes alot more than this.. So lets just all put this behind us, shall we? Even if you can't be friends, then maybe you can be neutral? Or at least not rip-his-throat-out angry.

Alex's Autism isn't such a bad thing; I'm Asperger's, it helps me to think of original ideas because I see the world a bit differently. Autism can lead to success, as seen with Bill Gates and other successful people. If Alex is sincere, he could come up with some great ideas for more reasonable powers in future. Good luck Alex.
P.S. I too, admit I am sorry for what I said to you, I was just annoyed. |

there's nothing wrong with autism, or Asperger's or Alzheimer's or any other disorder or problem people have with their lives. I personally was thought to have ADD when I was little, but we figured out i was just bad. Not to say I know what you're going through, but people can easily work through the problems they face as long as they have a positive attitude. And furthermore, I wouldn't think that would hinder one's creativity or productivity, long as nobody uses it as an excuse for their behavior. Not saying anyone is, I just HOPE that's not the case for anyone.
If anyone has made psychological, biological, or other types of disorders or personal struggles an issue (be you a little person, gay, autistic or an alien from Krypton, it doesn't matter) then they will most definitely be reprimanded for it (at least by ME, anyway.) Hope that never gets to be a problem.

I see another sower of discord is arising...insensitive, cynical, bad grammar...yep, all the makings of a troll.

At least this one has a Chuck Norris fetish. I give him points for originality.
All hail the king of dunces! You best hold on, I'm opening up my mouth.

Nope, sadly that's not the case...this borderline homoerotic fetish is all over the internet. Fanboys who LOVE action movies tend to LOVE Chuck Norris...

Really? I haven't run into any in my time. I mean, I've seen the Chuck Norris jokes everywhere, but not anywhere near this level of fanboy-ism.

I am going to make some changes to perfect immortality soon.
1) I will change it back to the way I had it on the list though I will keep the not being able to negate it part. I am currently trying to come up with an less powerfull version of the adapt to everything version which I will add to the list. I am also going to make it less powerfull but it will still be powerfull enough it just won't be unbeatable. Once I figure out the version I am going to add to the list I will change perfect immortality back to the way it was when I originaly posted it. Though it still won't be able to be negated. I am also trying to make the version less overpowered when I add it. Shadowulf1 you were right about the bad name issue so when I add this version to the list it won't be called immortality. So as soon as I figure it out and try to add it to the list I will change perfect immortality to the way I had it originaly with an minor adjustment. The adjustment I am going to keep is it still will not be able to be negated because I don't see how perfect immortality should be able to be negated because it is perfect. Even with the not being able to negate it still in play when I add the new power which I will most likely call Omnipotent Adaption it will no longer be overpowered. I am also going to find away to decrease the power of Omnipotent Adaption a bit so that it is no longer unbeatable but still very powerfull. |
1) I think any power should be able to be negated, unless it is a power to protect other powers (e.g. Ability Jump-start). Being able to be negated doesn't mean it isn't perfect. Look at Power of Imagination; it could be considered "perfect" because it allows you to do essentially anything if you are competent and have a good imagination. It can still be negated, but that doesn't change it's status.
2) I have a few suggestions if you want to weaken the Omnipotent Adaptation, a few of which come from real-life evolution and adaptation: -Look up real-life evolution and adaptation, it will help a lot. -Have the adaptations take a bit of time (i.e. a few seconds) to take effect, leaving the user vulnerable. -Have the adaptations wear off. -Have it only adapt to things which directly affect it. For example, being shot would make you adapt, but someone snapping a twig 10 meters away would have no effect. -Only have it give you powers that help you survive, reproduce or take advantage of your situation. For example, if you were thrown into water with someone else, you would get the power to breath underwater and possibly the ability to swim faster. Hope that helps! |
I really should make it so that people with perfect immortality are not able to use a power that I soon hope to submit and Myself, you seem to like negation powers.

1) What does it do?
2) I don't really like negation powers, but I can see where you get that belief. I just think everyone should be able to be defeated and negation powers are the only way to do it sometimes.
