I shift my body out of sync with reality in response to the creatures actions to shield my self from interacting completely with the void or spears heading my way. This is when I feel the mind of the creature turning its attention towards us, trying to learn from and overcome us. I begin encrypting my own data so that it will appear unintelligible to the creature while still allowing me to draw upon the thematic abilities of my powers.

More power begins streaming out of my Core and my abilities step up from simply being reinforced through data to being made from the pure concept of what they represent, drawing on the knowledge of every instance in which the concept had existed. The Omni-Elemental draws on another state of its complex form and strikes out against the incoming spears as a shift flame, as much as it can with the Anti-Spirit forces dampening my work.

( *sigh* Glad you didn't just end it Zale. But srsly, Whaliens is just arriving. As a newbie, he doesn't know any better. I'm sure he took our talk of randomness as a hint that the current arc was random as well. He deserves, if any, only minimal blame.)

The monster's psyche intrigues me. It's not just attacking...it's learning at the same time, quite literally adapting to what I can throw at it. It's been a while since I've faced a creature so efficient.

Still, despite the fact that its mind would make an excellent trophy in my hall of treasures, I've got to take advantage of the situation at hand. To retrieve our moves, and calculate them for improvement, its mind is open like a steel trap.

Now, to conjure up a force too large for the trap to work.

That in mind, I reach down within myself. Into the depths of my mind, heart and soul. Every bit of knowledge I possess, every thought I've ever had, every feeling I've ever felt. Every change in opinion, every shift from high to low, every dream, every wish, every creative spark, every prayer. Every ascent to the heights of ecstasy, every descent to the depths of despair.

And most important of all, every powerful being I encounter, I echo my experience of them, reverberating their abilities through me, based on my memory of their power. It isn't much, I can't hope to match them all, but with what I can do, combined with a small part of them, a little luck, and a lot of defying physics' laws, perhaps this shall be enough to forcefield me from the outward impending attack, and still land a damaging blow against the Red Beast.

All that channeled into the howl of my Wulf Form floating in the void, perhaps my chances are a bit less slim.

New beginning doesn't have a topic; the premise is us with our profile powers doing as we please, thoug it has evolved since,such as with created characters being in our place.

As the energies were tested, I moved a device near my target and began to attract the beast with the effective forms of energy and give it an endless supply of that energy, invalidating any requirement to do harm.

Moving back, Crescent closes her eyes as she throws back her arms and four more wings form on her back. It had been awhile since she'd used all of the power available to her to take on an enemy, but now it was too late to back down. She holds the Silver Crescent Fang and the Worldblade next to each other letting them combine in a flash of light into one, forming her most powerful weapon: The Silver Crescent Fang Legacy. Swinging its blade once, Crescent unleashes her most powerful attack yet upon the being in front of her.

If the Vault could be said to have any sort of combat doctrine, it was this: why work when you have other people to do that for you?

To be fair, it'd never had people this strong doing it's work for it. Usually he'd be fighting something in this weight class himself, but these guys seemed to have it handled. He had to do nothing but float here and wait for them to ware it down. Then, rush in and collect the spoils.

Recovering from being squashed by an inhumanly heavy man in my cat form while controlling rodents in my personal garden (don't ask, check the game show thread ) and subsequently returning to the sanctuary of The Door*, I remain in my supply room, but ready some nukes.

Titanic forces bent and buckled it. Energies beyond scale assailed it from all sides.

Unintentional or not, these creatures were killing it.

Then it's Prey rose, grand and terrible. It was waiting to pounce, obviously amused by the turn of events.

A final battery was it's undoing.

Form stressed beyond it's breaking point, it shattered.

A thousand ethereal red fragments sprayed out, fading into nothingness as they flew.

Flashing green, something shot out and struck one, huge and glowing, and it's path shifted Now it shrieked towards the Vault.

There's a rippling, and the large ape in the grey suit is just.... gone. Completely gone.

In it's place stands something titanic.

Even in this void, a wall blocks all sight. Stretching from horizon to horizon into eternity, it's walls are adorned with nothing. It is simply cold, grey, metal of some unknown make. The ones who made this made it not to look pretty, or to inspire, or to stand as a jewel of their civilization. This thing was built to do a job. The wall radiated stillness, solidity, never moving, never changing, always their waiting like some sort of hungry predator.

To look upon it is to know both eternity and inevitability.

There's a smashing of locks, echoing from within the wall so deeply that they can be felt. Then the door, so seamlessly blended into the metal that it's impossible to tell it was there, throws itself open. To do so in a place with an actual atmosphere would have been catastrophic. It accepts the red spec graciously, and the doors slam hard like the mouth of an enormous alligator. The resulting boom is loud enough to deafen an entire planet.

Then it's over. The wall is gone. In it's place is an ape with steel grey eyes a clothing to match.

It's smiling.

"You sure you can contain that thing?" I say telepathically as I drift over to the Vault through the void.

"Once it's in, it only gets out if I let it."

Hearing the conversation telepathically, Crescent cuts in as well, "Really? That's useful. I wonder if you could help me alter my pocket dimension to be like that as well except with me as the user instead of you."

"Sorry, no idea how it works. I'm just the finely tuned result."
