New Beginning 16: All for One and One for All

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Murakami: "Only flaming arrows? You must be joking. Les Faux du Neige Noire!"

The scythes spinning around Murakami turn into scythes composed of black snow and cut apart the arrows while absorbing the flames. More black snow scythes fly towards the Cherub to harm him.


In the stands:

Lambda: "Oooops. Maybe I shouldn't have taught her that spell."

Kappa: "Why not? It seems like a good one."

Lambda: "Black snow is a special snow that absorbs fire and reacts to other things like acid."

The other Heads: "WHAT!?! When did you teach her that spell?"

Lambda: "When she became part of the Top Ten one year ago."

[Zaleramancer]

Interesting.

The Cherub explodes into flames, his aura igniting the air and making the sky glow like the rising of a second sun. The black snow and the fire battle in the air, but slowly the sheer amount of fire begins to overcome the snow.

A wave of flames explodes towards Murakami.

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Murakami: "Every fire user thinks that they can beat me. I wonder why that is? I can use more than just snow and ice magic. But let's go with ABSOLUTE ZERO!"

The air in the path that the flames are taking flash freezes over and the flames are abruptly extingushed as the spell sends absorbed energy back to Murakami.

In the stands:

Lambda: "Ok, I am not the one who taught her that spell. Who did?"

[Zaleramancer]

The flames in the sky died down a bit.

Taot stares down at the young girl.

You seem to mistaken as to what I am.

I am no mere Fire Elemental. I am a being born from the blood of the Fire God, I was young when the world was only beginning to exist.

I am Primordial Flame.

New fire springs into existence, brighter and hotter than before. Fire that could warp stone, melt metal, set forests aflame.

It courses towards Murakami.

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Murakami: "Hmph. Like I said, fire users are all the same."

Murakami creates 10 duplicates out of ice and they split up.

All duplicates and Murakami: "Release, Yuki no Ogama!"

Every scythe that the original and the duplicates are holding turn into scythes composed entirely of unmeltable snow.

Murakami: "Now, Ultimate Form! Yuki no Senppon Ogama!"

She and her duplicates throw their scythes into the air and the scythes shatter into 1000 flakes apiece. Each flake of snow turns into a full blown scythe.

Murakami: "Try this out for size! Sen Ogama Yoshiki: Ha no Fubuki!"

1000 of the scythes fly towards the Cherub and engulf him in a veritable snowstorm.

[Zaleramancer]

They burn. The first few, at least. Very little will not burn if a Cherub commands it.

However, they were many and so cold. Taot tries a new tactic. His sword lashes out at great speed, sending fragmented scythes flying.

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Murakami watched as the Cherub tried to slash all of her scythes to bits.

Murakami: "Hmmmmm.... Maybe I'm going a little too hard on him. Ah, well the scythes can regenerate and it's always a good idea to be cautious. Crushing cage!"

All of the scythes converge on the Cherub to slash him to bits.

[Zaleramancer]

DA is distracting...


Taot glanced up and appeared to analyze the attack. Then he threw his sword towards one of the flying scythes. It hit and deflected the scythe, sending it spinning off into another scythe, which caused it to spin. A chain reaction sparked as spinning scythes flew in every direction.

The Cherub continued to hover, arms crossed as his sword returned to float around him, deflecting the few scythes that approached.

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Murakami: "Hmm. With the way things are going I might as well use that spell. Ok."

Murakami inhales then sings: "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow."

Around her appears silver snow and as she concentrates it coalesces into several scythes that then each touch fire that is in the area causing a chain reaction that creates more and more silver snow before finally surrounding her opponent with scythes of silver snow.

Murakami: "Do you yield?"


In the stands:

Kuroko: "What is that spell?"

Lambda: "It's a special spell called, "World of Silver Snow." The silver snow can only be used by those who are at least half-yukionna as the first silver snow was created by the Yukionna Lady, the goddess of Yukionna. Silver snow has the unique property of absorbing energy from anything solid or plasmatic it touches and sending it to the controller. Anything drained is turned into more silver snow."

Rho: "Why would teach anyone such a spell? It's dangerous!"

Lambda: "Of course it is but every half-yukionna learns it when they become strong enough and every yukionna learns it when they can first start casting spells."

[Zaleramancer]

Fascinating.

Taot reached out to touch one of the lacy flakes, pulling back when his finger began to transform.

Formidable.

But..

It is still magic.

The Cherub held his hands together, calling a tendril of flame into them. It nestled animal-like there, shivering and slowly becoming something less like fire. Taot breathed into his cupped hands and then held them open.

A ribbon of light emerged, shining and shimmering in dozens of colors. It began to twist around the Cherub.

Are you hungry little one? The ribbon rippled and then a mouth-like shape appeared on one end. It chomped hungrily.

Then eat. The ribbon exploded outwards, colliding with the silvery snow and leaving nothing behind. It rippled through, devouring the magic.



"He made a magic eater. Nasty little things." I say in a gossiping tone to the people discussing spells.

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Murakami chuckles: "Magic-eater, eh? Too bad a soulsword isn't magic."

Murakami's Soulsword' scythes slash the magic-eater to bits then the silver snow reconverts the magic-eater back into silver snow which surrounds the Cherub yet again.


In the stands:

Rho: "It doesn't matter that much as a Soulsword isn't magic. It's similar but different. When we materialize our Soulsword it comes from our soul. Soulswords are especially useful since while they're out noone can alter our souls against our will and only the one whose soul it comes from can wield it. I'm Student Rank Number 11 Rho, Head of Soulswords. What is your name mister?"

[Zaleramancer]

"Oh, I'm Zale. Sophisticated Sorcerer, Magnanimous Mage, Worrisome Wizard and Practiced Prognosticator at your service." I say with a smile. "Here's my card."

Meanwhile, Taot is staring at the fragments of the Magic Eater. He touches one of the flying threads and it shatters.

"Oh hell. Now he's mad."

The Cherub's aura begins to expand and contract. Around him, the air begins to boom. Shivers run through the snow.

"Clever. He's superheating the air for a second. It expands and boom, sound-wave."

The sound grows higher in pitch and speed. Snow and ice begin to crack.

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Murakami: "Soundwave? Pointless. Barrier of Silver Snow."

The silver snow shifts then turns into a barrier that will prevent the sound and the superheated from leaving and hurting others outside the barrier.

In the stands:

Mu: "Soundwaves have been tried before. Anything that could be used against her that she can think of or has actually been used Murakami has trained for and practiced on. The fight should be ending soon."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Sarabi...I wan't you to watch and learn. These are techniques you should use."

[Zaleramancer]

The barrier explodes outwards as Taot emerges, bearing a iron greatclub. The silver snow goes flying.

The Cherub discards the greatclub while it crystallizes into silvery snow.

One advantage to having multiple weapons. I can survive if I loose them.

Can you?

He pulls a spear from the air around him and then throws it towards Murakami.

It screams as it flies, sending off intense waves of sound that knock the silver snow away from it.

[Zaleramancer]

"But she's only nine. How can she know so much?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Because its convenient? also probably becuase of The Academy she goes to.

[Zaleramancer]

The Cherub is several thousand years old.

She is nine.

Murakami has two scythes from her Soulsword block the spear.

Murakami: "Quantity matters only if you can use all the weapons well enough."

One scythe opens up and a fleck of silver snow emerges from within it having never touched the sides of the hollow scythe. It touches the spear and the spear turns into yet more silver snow for Murakami's use.

Murakami: "Mars Combat Academy teaches many things and one of them is to have plans and contingency plans. As one of the Top Ten I have more time than most students to plan things out because I don't have to attend classes. Good bye."

One flake of silver snow hits the Cherub from behind.
