Then, by all means, get to posting in the Characters' thread, man! Post like the winds, Bugseye!

I shall think of some new ones specifically for you. I don't want to use some I've already created for myself, otherwise, I may feel weird about using them in my own stories later. Sound good?

Screw it, I'm just going to tell you the plot. I can't think of a better way. It's like this...

Basically the entire multiverse, in which this story takes place, is guided and watched over by a near god-like being who calls him self the Prophet. He originally created the multiverse to entertain himself in the endless continuum of time. However, he eventually grew bored with merely watching the multiverse and decided to interfere with its inhabitants lives. His meddling gave birth to a powerful evil. An opposite force to his will that called itself the Doomsayer. It began to feed on the lingering energies of the Prophet, growing in power and strength and gaining immunity from the prophet's direct interference.

The Prophet saw this problem and sought to act quickly by activating the forces he'd left in the multiverse to balance it. The forces were embodied by living beings and together they sought out the doomsayer and fought him. However, they underestimated the doomsayer and the doomsayer managed to kill them and absorb the power of one of them.

The Prophet, in a desperate attempt to stop the doomsayer, took the last action he had. He restarted the multiverse. Everything began anew, but somehow, the Doomsayer persisted into the new multiverse and the forces were deployed once more. Again he killed them, growing more powerful as he did so. And once again the Prophet restarted the multiverse.

And so began an endless cycle that brings us to the main story. The Doomsayer has grown more powerful and the Prophet fears this is his last cycle before the Doomsayer becomes powerful enough to wipe him out for good. This is the last chance, and he has to make it count.

From there, the story begins to focus on our heros who later will become the forces of the multiverse. They're journey soon begins as they work to oppose the Doomsayer in a final cycle of the multiverse.

What do you think?

Basically, what I just described will be told as a beginning of the story in the Prophet's own words. From there the story shows the end of the last cycle before the current one in which the doomsayer slowly kills the powers to some badass music. After the song ends and the Doomsayer has killed all the powers, the story, continues. The universe restarts and the first of the potential powers is introduced as a normal carefree teen.

In an unrelated matter, if you guys can provide anything from ideas, concept art, royalty free music, sound effects, or other helpful things I'll gladly add your names to the project and give you due credit.

Interesting.

I'm generally good at characters, but I'd need a decent frame of reference to suggest them.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Well, I've got the Main hero's ready.

What I really need is:

Normal minor characters for use in story building, as important figures (i.e Mayors, teachers and the like), for background scenes and for general conversations.

Minor Characters with basic superpowers for longer story arcs between the universes or for story building.

Minor Villains to use as one shot mini battles. Most of these will originally be minor characters, powered up and turned evil by one of the main villains I've got planned.

A handful of Major Villains for a Legion of Doom type situation.

(I can give you any background info you need to help me build effective characters or scenes.

So, is the setting like.. all genres?

Cyborgs and Sorcerers? Elder Things and Superheroes? Noir Detectives and Psychic Guinea Pigs?

Yes, amongst the many universes. All forms of strange and weird are viable and cannon. And while I'd like to stick more or less to the serious side of these things. I'm open to stray into the comically strange from time to time.

So far I've got these dubious characters of ill intent....

General D, only shown shrouded in shadows until the time he is revealed to be the Doomsayer in disguise. He is angry, unforgiving and a natural tactician. It is heavily implied that he is super strong and posses uncanny energy abilities, though his true power is a mystery.

Mr. Shade, a rather *cough* shady looking character who is the primary field agent of the "league". His only powers seem to be the ability to disappear and reappear like a shadow and to reach into the dark desires of others and grant them powerful evil abilities. He is calm, collected and devious, preferring to avoid combat and talk his way out of situations with his silver tongue.

Farwing (Awful name, needs a change), a fallen angel type character who seeks to bring his own versions of strict "justice" and "order" to everything in the multiverse. He employs various powerful corrupted magics that appear to be holy in nature, but are destructive and merciless. He is prideful, arrogant and narcissistic, believing that everyone should serve him.

Not much, but its a start. In total I'd like 7 major villains.

Angel/Demonic Name Gen and Lovecraftian Name Gen.

That whole site is rather nice.

Suggestions: Sympathetic Nihilist.

This person is somehow aware of each and every reset. They've been doing this again and again. Dying again and again.

They want it to end. Don't care how, or who ends it, so long as someone does.

Also: Something from the sciencey side of things wouldn't go amiss.

You have RAWR WAR, Collected-Smart, Knight-Templar-Deulsional, So Curious-Insane-Scientist would ad something new to the dynamic.

Interesting. it would be a good pair off against the "sane" scientist character hero you suggest the first run through. I took that original idea and ran with it, hope you don't mind.

I love it when people do that.

Makes me feel effective.

If you need a character to carry the plot forward by giving the protagonist a crutial clue, why not make it a Tipler Oracle?
