Re: Lords of Creation

I'm thinking up more-or-less random ideas for immortals now..

Starting with that sphinx. She was interesting.

Name: Meskhenet
Concept:  Goddess of deserts, mirages, traditions and knowledge. Her priestesses know much and are sought out as mediators or to answer obscure questions. She is worshiped through burning incense or by recording new information.
Personality: Polite even while taunting you. Has a real tendency towards being cryptic and sarcastic. She knows a great deal, and will make you pay through the nose to get information. Her word is her law.
Appearance: As a large Sphinx or a roaring whirlwind of sand. Sometimes she appears as a tanned woman dressed in white robes.
Divine Rank: 1
Power: 1
Potence: 2
Presence: 1
Perception: 4
Symbolic:  Sphinxes, Clay Tablets/Books/Tomes, Desert Birds, Whirlwinds, Mirrors.

The stats are more there to show how the immortal uses power most of the time.
Some might just use blunt force (Power) others might prefer to use black mail or knowledge (Perception) while others might just pick you off from a distance (Potence). Some might just work subtly, Altering places and people just by being there. (Presence).

As you can see Meskhenet prefers to use her power to snoop out answers or affect things from a distance.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

I don't know...I need to think about it...

Well, they're probably going to be drop dead gorgeous..

For some reason, I think the she couldn't make ugly people..

And you are correct about both assumptions...

Anyway. Humans are a given. They'll likely be the largest group, and every immortal will probably have some human followers. They'll also have their chosen people.. Their somewhat inhuman followers.

Some kind of super beautiful people. The kind of infectiously charismatic and attractive people that can cause three car pile ups just by walking down the street...

I like the way you think...

Yeah, I'm thinking bronze-y skin; indistinguishable as belonging to any Earth race; some look white with a great tan, some look light-skinned black, some look Hispanic or middle-eastern...

Name:  Samalii
Concept:  Goddess of electricity, speed and agility. A lesser goddess in service of Rusmana. Her clerics are know for looking harried. Samalii likes personal relationships with her clergy and because of her hyperactivity, this can be a be exasperating for them.
Personality: Hyperactive and mobile. Samalii doesn't do subtle. She shows her emotions - and how rapidly they shift. One of those endlessly cheerful people, the kind who wants to see everything and meet everyone. Despite her seeming levity, she is easily one of the fastest immortals. People call her "Samalii the uncatchable."
Appearance: As a short human with mischievous features and short hair. Sometimes appears as an orb of lightning.
Divine Rank: 1
Power: 2
Potence: 2
Presence: 2
Perception: 1
Symbolic: Electricity, Brightly colored objects, Humming Birds

Since she's a lesser goddess, I gave her less points..

...

And don't give her coffee for the love of all that is good and sane.

Personality: Comes off as a twit to be sure, but when she is researched, her actions in the past show that she is an adept manipulator; cunning and prudent herself, and well versed in the ways of the natural and the supernatural, she will either come under the guise of feigned ignorance, or as a compelling bargainer to get you to do things which otherwise you would be wise to avoid.
Appearance: Tall and lithe, black hair and green eyes; almost always with a smile on her face.
Divine Rank: 1
Power: 2
Potence: 2
Presence: 2

I'm considering denizens..

Think, like semi-divine servants. Little power but with moderately large numbers.

Something along those lines.

Not quite powerful enough to be even lesser divinities, but still ahead of humans.

So basically, the equivalent of our mythical creatures. I could do that. I've got plenty of ideas just sitting around, waiting to be used.
