Mina: "Kagehana, I'm changing my previous order. Have all of our forces except me and you retreat."

Kagehana: "Yes, mistress. All Shadow-Scarred, take everyone home, NOW."

Thhe Shadow-Scarred scramble to do as ordered and within seconds only Kagehana, Mina, and the Watchman are left.

The Watchman waited, yelled a few more insults at the waves, realized she wasn't coming, then sat down in the sand to fume. Look at him, calling someone else childish. He was no better. He was, after all, a God; the most universally childish race in all of eternity. What did they even exist for? What purpose did they really serve? There was no fire god among their number, but fire burned just as bright without them. So what did they do, that the world couldn't all on it's own?

"What do we ever do, but play around in the sandbox"? he said to no one.

Mina: "Well, I'm going. I need to go back to my territory and assess how bad the damage was to my forces. See ya!"

Kagehana and Mina slipped through the shadows back to Mina's territory in order to assess how much Mina had lost in the battle and just how many had died.

Gilgamesh prepared to follow his subordinates into battle, when he heard a strong voice call his name. Turning around he saw the Watchman charging at him carrying an unusual sword. Drawing on the power of the Well of Eternity to power his swing, Gilgamesh parried the blow. His sword broke but he successfully stopped the attack. "You spirits know nothing of honorable battle. First Waverider, and now even you try to take advantage of me. I'll have none of it."

Flying into the air so that Hazet, Waverider, and the Watchman were in front of him, Gilgamesh used his remaining strength. Before he had crafted Divine Artifacts for his followers, now he would create them for himself. Golden dragon scale armor covered his entire body, to defend him and to contain the strength he was about to use (-4 motes). The next thing he created was the Nexus Eye, a device he wore as a necklace to amplify magic, specifically from the Well of Eternities energy (-4 motes).

(This post had Watchman sneak attacking and then me reacting against three people ganging up on me, but Vault changed his mind so I'll just rewrite this as Waverider attacking me so that it makes sense. The part above was the original beginning.)

His sword broke from the confrontation, but he stopped the attack. "You spirits know nothing of honorable battle. First Hazet attacks me, and now even you try to take advantage of me. "Yojimbo" he called "Give me your blade." And thus, Muramasa was added to his arsenal. Swelling his warrior spirit. He grabbed the blade and altered it. Holding his six hands on the sword, he pulled the huge blade apart into six identical blades for him to wield. With these items collected, he was a true warrior (+1 domain).

Bahamut and Yojimbo, with a new materialized sword, come to Gilgamesh's side to lend their power.

Drawing on the Well of Eternities power, and focusing it with the Nexus eye, he began to glow red. Building up draconic fire within himself, his body began to bulge as his newly created armor kept his power in control. Pointing his six blades out, their red aura converged on his mouth. He would show these challengers the true meaning of conflict, he would throw them to the ends of the Earth, he would burn even the ocean with his blast. With a roar, the fires spread before him (+1 domain).

Upon totalling up all casualties, it became apparent that Mina needed help, divine help and she would create it herself. From fire and ice she made two gods, twins (-8 motes for two Major Gods). Lily, the goddess of Twins and Fire and Kyouko, goddess of Twins and Ice. They would aid her in defending her main territory and her imps, succubi, incubi, and Youkai as well as the Shadow-Scarred's village when she went out to aid or observe others (+1 for defending domain).

Hazet unleashed the power of his spear, while Waverider threw a shrieking lighting bolt. The attacks collided with the flames, broiling the air and sending shock-waves across the island. Spirit Warriors near the fight were sent from the outpouring of power and many mortals dropped dead in their tracks.

The fire, however, still advanced rapidly. Waverider raised a wall of water, which rapidly turned to steam, as Hazet attempted to divert the power with a sing-song chant. Their efforts failed. The fire broke past and struck them like an inferno of death, souring them with divine power.

Waverider's storm vanished with a pathetic squeal as the immolated Goddess was hurled off towards Hazet's land. The furious God himself fared little better as the pain of the attack brought him to his knees. Power drifted away from him as his control broke. He dwindled and shrank, the ocean boiling around him.

Sorcerers and Priests across Hazet's lands collapsed as the pain of their god touched them. Even the less sensitive felt sickened and weak. The Demonwall shook and shivered, the eastern half of it collapsing and destroying one of the Free Cities.

Across the ocean, animals flew into a panic. Currents and waves twisted insanely, and storms began to cover the water. Undines shrieked across the sea, killing anything in their path. Even the Great Sharks gave into wild fury.

On his beach the Watchman felt the Explosion of power, and began to laugh bitterly.

Gods go to war, and who was it that suffered. Not the Gods. Immortality was one of the perks. No, in the end it was always the people who got the short end of the stick. The thing that struck him was that he could not place the blame squarely on Gilgamesh or Waverider or Hazet. All of their stupid decisions had led them to this point, even his.

There was nothing he could do about this train wreck now. He was too weak. The only thing he could do was try to prevent this sort of thing in the future.

So he sat, and thought about how.

In the Free Cities, Fubuki and Koriko, who had been sent by Mina, labored to aid the Free City that had been badly harmed along with their contingent of Yukionna and Yukiotoko. They had come too late to stop high casualties but they could still aid with ice and snow magic to find survivors. Their mana had been far from unused and a message had been dispatched to Mina for aid in recovery for the Free City. Hopefully, others would aid the Free City as well.

The destruction was over. Gilgamesh landed on his island as nature tried to handle the power that was unleashed. He returned Muramasa to Yojimbo, and the Nexus Eye to Bahamut.

"The conflict is over. It is time to rebuild, and you know what you must do" speaks Bahamut to Gilgamesh.

Gilgamesh turned silently and flew over his land, surveying what remained. Many of his people's lives had been lost today. Bahamut was right, it was time for his heroic side to become present. As he flew, Gilgamesh sought out the Watchman.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Sir!"

The Watchman looked up to see one of his loyal watchers floating before him.

"Sir, the people have been evacuated successfully, sir, but it appears that Gilgamesh has rebuked his attackers sir!"

"Really? Oh well, bring them back. The dangers past."

 "SIR!" The watcher flew away to spread the news.

So time pasted before the Watchman felt the presence of another God. He looked up and saw the form of Gilgamesh. When he speaks, his voice is hollow.

"Well, you certainly know how to make a someone feel small. What you just did, I felt that. Hell, I tasted that."

For a time, the only sound is that of the lapping waves. Then,

"You'll be happy to know that the civilians were evacuated. Not one of them died. Though it looks like there was no need."

A Shadow-Scarred approached Mina with the Yukotoko sent by Fubuki and Koriko, "Mistress. This Yukiotoko comes with news of the contingent sent to the Free Cities."

Mina: "How does their business fare?"

Yukotoko: "We need to have aid for the Free City. It is highly damaged and needs help."

Mina: "Hmmm. I, myself, will go to the Free City and aid them. Kagehana will accompany me. Lily and Kyouko will take care of affairs while I am gone."

Mina, Kagehana, the Yukiotoko, and the Shadow-Scarred slip through the shadows to the disaster-ridden Free City.

"I'm glad the civilians survived, but I can't say the same for all the warriors on the front line. Many died from the wave of the Undine's retreat alone."

Gilgamesh still wore the golden armor of the battle as he spoke. "I've come to seek your help. My heroic side outweighs the force of conflict in me for the first time in too long, it is time to rebuild."

"I would like to give you equal control of the Divine Servitors known as the spirits of healing."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"That's kind of you, Gil. I accept. Of course, all the healers we could create won't do any good if spats like this become a common occurrence."

"I've shown that I am capable of defending my land, what left is there to do than rebuild."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"The fact that you even had to defend this place is exactly whats wrong." The Watchman says, finally standing up. "This fight wasn't the fault of any one God. No, it takes several working together to make things fly this far off the rails. It was you, and Hazet, and me, and Waverider, and that witch. About the only people who weren't involved in this debacle were the love Goddess and Crav. You know why this happened? We were all off doing our own things, playing in our sandbox, each in our own bubble, giving no regard to things outside our domains."

"Gil, I'm sorry for butting my pig head into your affairs as rudely as I did, I had no right going about and demanding things after assaulting your people and making the scene."

Something was stirring in him now. An idea, one he had pitched before on his old world, one that had been rejected, was now coursing through him anew.

"That's why we need to be together. We need to meet. All of us. And we need to meet often, and we need to talk, and discuss, and negotiate, and plan where we want this world to go. Where we want it to end up. Because if we don't, it's going to end up a crater."

[Philote]

"How do you plan to set such action in moving? The world is still recovering from the conflict, largely due to the steps I took. We have to set things right first."

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Mina worked with all of the races in the disaster-ridden Free City (I'm just going to give it a name, yell at me if you think it doesn't sound right), Bluebell, to repair it but it wasn't going as well as any of them, including her, had hoped.

Mina: "Kagehana, please go find the Watcher and get him here to help. I'm sure he'd be willing to. After all these are the cities he inspired."

Kagehana: "Yes, mistress."

Kagehana slipped through the shadows to where the Watchman conversed with Gilgamesh and interrupted their conversation, "Excuse me. My mistress, Mina, requests that the Watcher come with me to aid the Free Cities. One of them is highly damaged and is in need of aid."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Of course, of course, I understand. Recover, rebuild, set all this right, then we can talk."

It was then the shadow creature appeared, and delivered her queens message. But that was not all.

"SIR!"

The watcher from earlier had reappeared. the flutter of its cape and shutter in it's voice reveled it's distress.

"Sir, well, we were almost done with with the resettlement of the people, sir, and I though, sir, that it would be smart to see the rest of the world, sir, how it was doing and all that. Sir, it's awful Sir. Part of the demon wall has collapsed sir, burying a city. The demons are doing what they can, sir, but there are a lot of injured. I'm sorry for acting without your permission sir, but.."

"Don't." The Watchman stopped the servitor, " You've no reason to apologize. Stop the redistribution for the moment, take all watchers and begin clearing rubble!"

"SIR!" the watches set off.

"I certainly hope those healers are good at what they do." He lifted off, calling to the healers, and they came. He sent them off across the sea, toward the free states, and only paused to beckon Gilgamesh to follow before shooting off after them.

Gilgamesh followed the Watchman, Yojimbo and Bahamut would be able to handle things while he was away.

"What shall we do about Hazet and Waverider? It would be honorable to return them to their domains so that they may recuperate, but I do not know their current location."
