So, no more mote gain from furthering a domain? Is there any way to increase maximum mote count from 12?

Domain Furthering is mostly an issue because people'll spam things just to gain it.


Perhaps have four motes handed out whenever someone does something truly significant regarding their domain.

I didn't intend for the maximum to be 12, only the starting amount.

I'd like advice on what the max should be.

Also: Planes can store up to twenty motes.

All these extra ways to gain motes, increase mote total, increase power, etc is where we will get the ability to abuse the rules.

Is there any reason to not just leave it at 12 for now and just test it out as that? The simpler it is, the less chance there is for people to stack things to have more than others.

Yeah, test run with twelve and we'll see how it goes. Though a limit of twelve would make a plane basically mandatory if you had any big projects in mind.

I'd suggest a limit of one plane per god, to keep a god from creating them to horde. And a mandate that the only one who could draw on that plane is it's god.

The way I would suggest altering things, to keep things simpler and not let motes get out of hand, would be to have the 12 mote limit and the one mote per day gain but to remove the other rules that would increase either the cap or gain.

Planes do not need to act as mote storages, and the costs to maintain them could be removed. Religious Orders could simply act as an organized group of mortals to carry out the objectives of a Spirit. The mote upkeep for Artifacts could be removed and the initial miracles required to make them could be reduced while still keeping the time frame required to make them so that they can't be spammed.

If all the mote actions are limited to 4 motes, then a Spirit could potentially have ready 3 Miracles at any moment, a reasonable number for any escalated encounter. At worst, a person would only have to wait four days to make the next addition to their pantheon as well.

The way to gather domains is a little odd too. It requires 8 motes to be spent towards the domain first, but there is no action related to a one mote act. I think it would make sense to just have the 4 mote cost and ask for people to mention the domain they are wanting to obtain before they do so to see if there are any objections.

Your inherit shape-shifting could fool mortal eyes into thinking you were at least a different god, or perhaps some spirit- but all other gods would easily recognize you.

I was specifically concerned with mortals. Several times in the first age I had my Spirits conceal themselves from mortals but still be easily visible to any Spirit in the area.

There's a reason I set it to a mote every other day.

Originally in this game, it was supposed to be a mote a week, so don't press your luck.

Planes are useful for... Personal Places, Transportation and Storage.

I guess removing the mote storage would work, but I don't see why..

Religious Orders are being reworked so that they only supply limited motes, and mostly act as loyal cohorts.

I don't see any reason to remove the mote upkeep for Artifacts. The alternative is to have a hard limit on the number you can carry, which seems a trifle arbitrary. I see logic for reducing the upkeep, though.

Miracles may be reduced for Artifacts.

 I accept the domain changes though.

You'd still seem a bit weird because of your divinity, but it could be passed off as "Some sort of magic-thing" like Waverider was for having blue skin/hair.
