No need. I've played it before. It was actually part of the reason i'm doing some of this stuff.

Not quite. Without giving anything away, there will be lots of uses for parts in relation to new gear, if you're clever.

So I have an idea, but I'm not sure If it would fit in well with the current theme of the RP or if it would disrupt it too much.

What if each of our characters had a base ability that was really weak but we could synergize it with the equipment we get, making it so that all the equipment we get is tied together by the synergized ability.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

If I make my character druid based, which with these abilities would sort of work, I could have a power similar to a weak entangling thorns and this would be augmented by whatever equipment I synergize it with. We could go rules light on it and just have a weaker utility version when its by itself and a stronger version when used with an item's ability.

The other side of this though is we could play this without a base ability and just get a collection of random abilities that mold our characters.

Hmm, well so far I've planned and designed everything around gathering and using random abilities from gear. It's a neat Idea, but I don't think I can work it without re doing a lot of things I've already done. Believe it or not there's a fair amount of stuff I've written and balanced that I haven't posted here. Over 7 pages worth actually. Granted, much of that is ability lists, but a lot of those abilities were geared to be stand alone powers that don;t mesh well if I tried to combine them with a base power.

Long story short, I think I'm gonna have to pass. But you can still try and customize your gear to benefit your druid motif. It won;t be as difficult as it might seem now. Like I said, there's a lot of stuff I haven't shown you guys yet.

Alright, that should work.

I keep imagining you guys at the end. Shooting laser-beams out of every orifices, jumping 60 feet in the air, and wreathed in emerald flames. Blades and Magic out the wazoo, more armor than a room full of tanks and so many auras, sparkles and enchantments you practically glow in the dark.

Fun fact: By the rules of D&D, about a third of all magical items glow.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Which reminds me. I make you guys aware of the three properties of Gear. Each piece of gear has these three properties.

Appearance - obvious. The outward appearance and structure of an item
Power - The ability an item posses such as shooting fire or allowing you to breath under water. Not all items have a power.
Effect - Comparable to an aura, this a is a purely aesthetic property that some items have like glowing, smoking, sparkles and such. Not all items have an effect.

These are for a reason to be revealed later.

I also wouldn't scoff at rudimentary grenades or rockets, the Chinese have been using those in siege warfare since the 13th century.

Coolest use of incendiary devices in Asian warfare: you take an oxen, and strap two large spears to its side. Put incendiary bombs on these spears. Then strap something that you can burn to the back of the oxen, like straws dripping in oil. Point the oxen towards war machines sieging your town, ignite, and watch the calamity.

Blasphemous Love Axe sounds like the most metal magical girl weapon ever.

I could see that being a thing Uburra-Namall would use...
