Time to try to give this thread some life.

If you could all have one power, what would it be? The catch is, you all must have the same one, so you need to make compromises and come to an agreement.

To prevent it from being overpowered, I suggest Omnipotent Power Mimicry*. That way, we can all use the powers we want on a particular day, but not be overpowered. We can also use other powers to give this power to our friends and family.

That is a good question, and I think you posed a pretty good answer to it, but I think another viable answer would be Ability Imbuing. It would allow the acquisition of numerous powers, and they would last for as long as you wield whatever object holds the power. It could even be achieved through that Omnipotent Power Mimicry, thus making the main power's use only necessary once (gain OPM, mimic Ability Imbuing, imbue various objects with an arsenal of abilities of your choice).

The latter part of that answer is the reason why my favorite switched to OPM.

I agree though; Ability Imbuing* would be useful in this circumstance as well.

Okay, then.

So, maybe time for another superpower question.

There is only one existing superhuman on Earth (let's call him Patient Zero- the original superhuman), and he has a gene that grants him with a powerful superhuman ability. Quantakinesis, Telekinesis, whatever. Regardless of what the ability is, imagine that this superhuman has such a powerful, uncontrolled ability, that one day it activates without his effort, and Patient Zero is discovered. He is experimented on, subjected to painless testing, and scientists eventually discover the gene/genome/whatever that is responsible for his ability.

They isolate that gene/genome/whatever, and discover that the ability gained will vary based on the genetics of the subject it is introduced to (meaning you have the chance you won't get the same superpower as Patient Zero). There is also only a 60% chance it will be successful. There is a 30% chance it won't do anything, and a 10% chance it will mutate you horribly, before killing you in a horrendous, irrepressibly-painful way.

Which means the supplement is dirt cheap to buy in health stores.

With knowledge of what measures were taken to make the serum/supplement/whatever, do you buy it? Or do you avoid it at all costs, and try to convince others to avoid it, as well?

 I think I would, too. With great reservations. I'm no daredevil (trying things potentially deadly to me), but the idea of being superstrong, or telepathic, or quantakinetic would be incredibly tempting.

Here is another question to keep this thread alive:
f you could have six powers, what would they be and what would you do with them?

The scenarios:
1) You are the only one with this choice.
2) You are part of a group of superhumans (e.g. the mutants in X-men, the evolved humans in Heroes, etc).
3) Everyone on Earth has six.

My six would be the same for all three scenarios. I would have Omnipotent Power Mimicry*, Teleportation, Perfect Memory (with control, of course), Telekinesis*, Telepathy* and Shapeshifting.

Alright, what would be your three if everyone on Earth got them?

Feel free to post what you would do with them.

Rules:
1) Source from this site, though minor alterations are permitted.
2) No altering powers to combine them.
3) No "Delete this" powers, though exceptions may be made in some circumstances.

Mine would still be Omnipotent Power Mimicry* (with the alteration that I am creating the powers from imagination, rather than actually mimicking), Teleportation (infinite range, up to an extra ton of mass) and Telekinesis* (Chronicle style ).

In other places, this may be considered overpowered, but here I would be the underdog.

I would set a "trap" for power mimics. It wouldn't affect their lives in any way, but allow me (and others I may help) to take advantage of them:
1) Access the power to bind people's powers and consciousness together, even after this power is lost at midnight.
2) Walk around greeting power mimics.
3) With my mind in their body, while possession may be beyond me, I am able to use their senses, will not die until they do, could communicate telepathically with them and use my powers through them (e.g. if I die I can create a new body for my consciousness, I could teleport a friend somewhere, etc).

I'd also offer this to friends and family, as well as anyone on this site (who I could easily meet with teleportation ).
