You'd just be starting from the middle of story that way. I want this project to be a NEW story.

I saw that. It had to be explained in a different way is all.
You don't always get jokes right away, and you don't always understand the teacher the first time, cut me some slack.

We have enough power that most of us would easily qualify as Physical Gods.
If the universe is put in jeopardy every five minutes, it will loose effect eventually. There are very few problems a reality warper can not easily circumvent, which makes it very had to write a plot around them. Murder mystery? Solved with ease. I read everything's mind. I have access to the records of the universe. I just know. Etc.. Etc.. Army of X? Easily demolished. Anything from mundane soldiers to unholy demons.

I still see the issue of having to describe a lot of information regardless if we use new characters. If I take a new character from Aeon, we still have to explain Aeon and its universe, and the Core system I've created.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

Not so much as you'd think. Audiences aren't inherently stupid, you don;t have to tell them everything, only the important bits. The rest will fall into place with context clues and progression through the storyline.

Exposition. That can be worked into the story on a need to know basis.
When's the last time you started off a story knowing everything about the world? Since the new cast would be just meeting, it offers and even easier way/reason to explain.

Murder Mystery: We are baffled by a lack of any evidence despite all our information gathering powers. Could it possibly be one of the other SPL members, and if so, how would we handle it?
Army of X: Suddenly not so easily demolished. The definition of God that you're using is not the same as mine, that is more of what I would call a major aspect or something similar. If you set us up against ants, of course it is going to be boring, there is always something stronger that we could face.

Like I would have to do with Celadon. But it's cool. Like I said, whatever they choose (creating a new alternate to intersect with our NB canon, or putting that established NB canon into animation/pictures), good can come of either option.

It just isn't a great idea to use such totally powerful characters...Arguing it back and forth isn't getting us anywhere.

I see that being the case rather we use existing or new characters.
I'm just rather fond of the story I've created, and I see NB as an extension of Philote's timeline. Starting with new characters would be fine, I'm just pointing out that using existing ones is doable.

True. I'm in a Creative Writing class right now (and am a writer myself), and I've found that subtlety and clever timing and focus on the important things is most helpful.

Here is another thing, wouldn't whatever characters we use have to be pretty powerful anyways if we are going to put them in a NB setting?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. You can still use the story...
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Why's that?
They're on the bottom. That's the point. If they had the power to level cities, why even bother lowering the cast on the sliding scale of power?

Yes, but from my understanding, they might be starting off from different places in the universe.
But, that does leave me with one question. How exactly would the events of New Beginning have been triggered? Don't folks gain powers by first acquiring them on The List website? Or would it be a mystery, that we would maybe have to solve in-story?

Most NB storylines involve at least a minimal power level to jump between planets and to survive in space.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. Not to begin with no, since this is a venture all their own we can start them off at any level we want. Just because they intersect with NB doesn't mean they have to immediately match up to the power of the most powerful being in NB.
Yes, there are powerful being in NB, but that doesn't mean we have to match them. They don't come mess around with every single adventure that happens in the multiverse, most are beneath their notice. They don;t go and smite every single bad guy everywhere, but they can go poke around with the "little people" for fun. Kinda like the trolls in Homestruck.

I feel that you're still thinking on too grand a scale in NB. This is more a venture in the smaller aspect of such a vast Multiverse. There may be planet or universe hopping, but it doesn't even have to be a power. We've already set up networks of transportation plus their are always higher up characters to help.

Yeah, we're always teleporting to other worlds, and sending out emissaries and such.
Now that I think about it, it's basically as if all past Avatars were currently alive, at the time when Korra went and started out on a journey that would eventually put her among their ranks.
