Considering that there is always a side effect with Fran, Insanity is the most likely option.

She could also remove my brain altogether and keep my body working, then my body would technically be awake.

I think the brain child was the strangest thing in the whole series.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Hehe...indeed.

They are famous for it.

I read a book (Big shocker there) about a treatment that allowed people to go without sleep.

It was not anything like that.

The sleepless were more happy, stable and somewhat more intelligent than sleepers. Mostly because they had more time to learn and practice.

It did have some unexpected results..

A kind of immortality, for one.  Apparently, some tweak of their genes made their internal organs less likely to degrade. So they would superficially age, but.. Their organs would remain in a youthful and health condition for an unknown amount of time.

Ok, but I still don't see your point....was this story fiction or non-fiction?

....

You have to ask that?

It was fiction.

“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Really?

Really?

If there was, then it would have been alllllllll over the news.

More so than a celebrities death.

If I open with the words,

"I read a book..."

Then it's fiction.

Not neccessarily, such a product has a wide margin for error and would most likely not be released to the public due to the vast damage it would cause to the medical economy. as well as a practical twenty four hour workday due to the lack of the need for rest. Not a good thought. However speculation and theories are still released periodically  a few of which are somewhat plausible.

I read a book that mapped out the entire anatomy of the human endocrine system. Such the term nonfiction.....although you could just use the word story instead.

Why would I mention a non-fictional book?

You would eventually die.

Most people do, anyway.
