oddly enough they aren't really that cold, a bit warm in some parts actually....by the way How is anyone going to survive on a planet twice the size of jupiter...if it's solid it would have an unbelievable gravitational force.

With Power of Imagination and other such powers though, the "End of Days" is only a temporary occurrence.

Does anyone else think I should make this into an RP? You use yourself as your character though.
The storylines is essentially like this:
1) The "event" occurs on 21 December 2012. I chose this date because it is said to be either the apocalypse or a great change. If this isn't a great change, I don't know what is. In this case, it could be both.
2) I'm not sure what the "event" is that is causes such a specific change. I am thinking:
-I am working as a Laboratory Technition (not sure how to spell it).
-We are working on a machine which can read reality for dangers, such as nuclear warhead production.
-However, when it appears not to be doing anything, we leave for a break, at which point one member accesses The Superpower List (we thought the machine was faulty).
-The machine reads this and thinks that is way reality is meant to be, so it finds who we are and grants us those powers before breaking (it was not designed for that purpose).
3) We all discover our new powers.

What do you think? I think I need a better reason we all got the powers we had acquired, so if you have one, please tell me.

I thought of one that was a bit better than that a few years ago, but I'm trying to make it into a book so...okay how about this.


End of days like you said. The apocalypse has come, causing a large bend in reality initializing all of the magics of old that use to be prevalent. As an affect all of us gain the powers that we are most used to, along with several monsters and creatures reappearing in the world.

Well, that's a fairly good explanation, although wouldn't those abilities would be magic or magic-based?

I'm still happy with mine, as it is not caused by the apocalypse (although it will probably cause the apocalypse) and the rest of the world remains the same (except for the changes caused by the presence and use of superpowers).

Why not it be that aliens came out of space to destroy us and
a. some sort of fallout grants us powers
or
b. we already had the powers in our DNA, but needed a certain stimulation to unlock it, like the brain had a pre-written message to unlock it in case of an emergency
or
a.&b. the fallout stimulates us to have them

I usually prefer the mythological base than all of the scientific theory based ones, then you could allow for things like the people who obtained sweater vision.
